When these burn themselves out, they will fail in the ON position!! I was using this to maintain temperature on a heating unit, and when it failed in 2 days, it nearly burnt down my entire house. Says it's rated at 25 amps, but I was only running 13a continuous for maybe 3hours and it burnt itself up and melted.

Not much to say about a relay - it switched the load as expected when it was turned on and off, although the load in question was only a couple of hundred watts at 120V AC.

These relays work well for controlling an AC load from a Raspberry Pi or Arduino. The rating of 25A should only be used when starting an inductive load (fan, compressor, etc.), but the continuous load on these relays should never exceed 40% of the rated maximum. Even that will really require a heat sink for safety. I am using these relays to run loads up to 6A. I use the version rated at 40A for loads up to 10A. By keeping to about 25% of the rated maximum, I find that the relays become, at most, only slightly warmer than ambient temperature. Keeping them cool also ensures good performance, so I use an of these for PWM controls on a cooling system. Some of them have been running continuously for the past three years and I have not experienced any failures.

These BlueStars 25 Amp Solid State Relays are in a very useful range as to both control voltage and switched voltage. The control voltage range is 3-32VDC with very low current demands. It can be used with many different control circuits, including using with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. The switched power is in the range of 24-380VAC 25A Single Phase. The switching time is very fast.I am quite familiar with these types of devices. But, many buyers will not be. This lack of familiarity has already lead to poor reviews. They include no specification sheet or instructions. Both are important. Solid State relays will get very hot if much current is passed through them. If they are used in any application where they are on for any significant length of time they need to be kept cool. You likely need a heat sink and maybe even some sort of airflow over this. They need to be mounted to a proper sized heat sink with thermal paste. If not, they will overheat and fail, often in not very pretty ways. Yes, this can cause a fire. If instructions were included they should tell you this. So, though I really like the devices I am going to drop a star for lack of instructions. In this particular case, because improper use cause big problems, I am being generous. If instructions were included you'd easily have five stars.These solid state relays are great and available here at an excellent value. You get two. But, research them and find proper mounting and use instructions for your application. If you do you will likely be very pleased.
