I recently installed a ventilation fan in a media closet to keep heat levels down, and wanted a way to control the fan via thermostat without spending a bundle. This product was just what I needed. It's not complex, it's a thermostat controlled 120V AC outlet...nothing more fancy than that. I set mine at 75F and it reads temperature to a precision of one tenth of a degree F. The temperature reading probe is on a bit of a cord with a suction cup, so can be located a foot or two away from the main unit. The unit itself has a mounting hole on the back and can be hung on the wall. I was worried that it might "flicker" as it bounced around the set operating temperature, but seems to smooth that out and doesn't seem to suffer from that flicker-effect.I didn't see any compelling reason to buy the upgraded, newer version of this myself, as this one met my needs perfectly. A good choice here, if this is what you need!

No problem setting it up and so far it works fine to control a fan. I like the bright LED display as it is tucked away on the wall in a darkish closet.

It’s only been 2 days but it works perfectly. I use this to operate a fan in order to cool a solar inverter. I cannot comment on it’s longevity but being a simple device I have no reason to believe that it wont last. The build quality is very good and heavy duty. The price was way below the big building box stores which only carried mechanical devices that require one to hard wire everything. This is plug and play. I would buy again.

I got this to use on a twin-tap EdgeStar beer kegerator in which the thermostat has never worked properly and kept freezing the lines and sometimes even the kegs.I have two- 5 gallon kegs of “classic American lager” that tastes best ice cold and this device only goes down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It would be okay for good craft beer - IPAs, stouts, etc. because those taste best at around 42 degrees, but not for “cheap” beer LOL.What I did to overcome this was I wrapped the probe sensor in some insulating foil bubble wrap with zip-ties and placed the probe on the side close to the door seal where I know it probably has some air infiltration and would read warmer than the main part of the fridge. It worked and the beer comes out at around 35 degrees, which is good enough when dispensed into an frosty mug.It was literally half the price of another brand I use, probably because of the 40 degree issue, so that's a plus, especially for this use. We'll see how long it lasts, but even the more expensive units usually go out after a year or two.

I wanted to ensure adequate cooling for a beverage cooler that was designed to be free-standing vs. built-in that I have installed under a counter surrounded by cabinets. This controller powers an axial fan connected to a 4" duct through a wall to maintain a safe temperature for the beverage cooler. I was also very pleased to see that the controller retains its set value even when a power loss has occurred, so I don't need to pull the beverage cooler out to reset it after a power outage.

this thing works awesome . just plug it in hold the up button for 3 seconds for Fahrenheit ,hold the down button for 3 seconds if you want Celsius, hold the yellow button for 3 seconds to set the time up or down.. hit the yellow button again and it set put the probe wherever you want the temperature to be adjusted ...I drilled a hole in the side of my solar panel this unit is not waterproof so if you use it out door like I am make sure it's protected and so is the probe...I'm using it as a thermal on off switch for my solar pool water heater I made a solar panel with 50 ft copper tubing inside glass encased [2 of them ] I wanted to have this turn on a sump pump sitting in the pool 18 inches below surface..I wanted this to come on when the solar panel got hot 100f... not on a timer because some days gets rainy...I have it hooked up to this sump pump... that pushes water to solar panels that are 6 feet below the pool surface ....15 ft away from the pool 100 feet of half inch outer diameter copper tubing works great...https://www.amazon.com/your-orders/pop/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o6?_encoding=UTF8&gen=canonical&lineItemId=kgjirqlpkjsrsny&orderId=112-8601220-8637060&packageId=1&returnSummaryId=&returnUnitIndices=&shipmentId=DZ6wthHSbIt is a 52 inch high 12 foot by 24 foot Intex swimming pool the sump pump is 18 in below water surfaceWith 2. 24 inch by 5 foot glass pane solar panels ...each 50 foot copper tubing inside it is able to raise the pool temperature approximately 10 degrees I'm at 60 gallons per hourAs in water coming from pool is 70° going back in pool at 80-95fOver 6 hours it raises the entire pool somewhere between 1 and 3 degrees more then just the sun itself per dayThe pool is 8600 gal so the entire pool os turned over in 14 days 10 f warmer then just Sun itself Works especially good at the beginning and end of season to extend your pool use

This is a great unit and is backed up by the seller very well. It can be configured as a heating OR a cooling thermostat. When I first used it, I was pushing buttons without reading the instructions. Duh. So I called the seller/manufacturer rep. He cheerfully guided me through the few simple steps to put it in cooling mode. I use it to operate an exhaust fan in my greenhouse. It works exactly the same way every time. I love it. Excellent bang for the buck. Highly recommend it.
