The first thing you’ll notice it is in a heavy duty plastic enclosureWhether you’re using this for a sprinkler pump or pool pump, the plastic case is secure and will not rust30% less than you pay at big box stores

Replaced an older mechanical timer with this, it would be nice if it had the same form factor, but this is slightly smaller. Functionally this thing is great, you can add it to your smart home, setup whatever schedule you want, easily manually override at the unit. Simple push button on/off. Just make sure you're wifi coverage reaches where this will be installed.

I bought this timer to control an irrigation pump of 1 HP. It works well for this purpose, but required some adjustments and is not 5 star for several reasons. First, the timer dial and mechanism is very delicate. The set tabs themselves are small. Each tab represents 15 mins, and the dial itself is about 2" in diameter, which makes setting on/off intervals a bit tedious, and tabs must be moved using a small screwdriver or similar tool. Further, tabs just feel "lightweight" and incapable of standing up to a lot of changing or resetting. Second, the removeable cover that surrounds the dial and switch is needs (at least on my unit) some adjustment. The hole for the dial was rough, with small pieces of plastic protruding into the edge of the set-dial preventing it from moving freely, and the mechanism that follows the dial edge to switch the power on/off was restricted by the cover. The solution was to sand the inner circumference of the dial hole until smooth and to also cut a small notch in the cover where the switching mechanism resides so as to allow freedom of movement (see photo). Finally, the wiring instructions provided are probably going to be difficult for anyone not familiar with wiring diagrams and conventions. This is compounded by the fact that timer can be wired for a normally open (NO) switch configuration, a normally closed (NC) configuration, for both 120V and 220V loads, and wiring of two loads, etc. I wired mine for 120V NO (normally open) switching so that depressed tabs close the switch (and turns on the pump). I included a photo to show my wiring. Note you will need a jumper wire from the incoming hot timer tab over to the load tab (black wire in photo). Both power and load neutrals (white) are tabbed together. Incoming ground and load ground is also lugged together. See second photo for 120V wiring. So far, the timer is working well and seems to keep its time and accurately turn on and off the pump. The timer is encased in a very good housing that prevents water from rain getting in, and given its price compared to other timers, it seems to be a good value, assuming one can make the above adjustments.

We use a number of parking lot lights in the evening for our church and these lights are so bright that we try not to leave them on all night because our neighboring homes around us really get flooded with light. We had these lights on an old school timer, but it had broken and we needed to replace it. This product was exactly what we needed and more - with the WiFi capability, we can now turn the lights on and off from our phones or we can set the lights up through an app on a timer for specific events. All in all, this smart switch has been a great purchase and at the price, it is a steal! Highly recommend for multiple uses that can be tied to WiFi for smart usage and knowing that the company that makes these switches has a LARGE INVENTORY of different light switch solutions, it is a great way to get all your lights on WiFi switches that don't need bridges for use with smart function.

I bought this to run my pool pump to save on energy costs. Installed the first one and every day I was having to adjust the dial to correct the time in order to shut off on “peak†energy hours. I requested a replacement and received it about a week later. It ran as should for maybe 2 weeks then lost track of time just as the first one did. A fault of my own didn’t return the first one in time so I basically paid for 2 timers that are completely unreliable. Should’ve just spent the money on a quality one and been done. Old saying goes “go cheap, pay twice as muchâ€

Needed a timer to switch the EV car charger at off peak hours, here in Ontario that's weekdays after 7pm.The timer is well made and programming is fairly simple. I like that one program can be weekdays and another program can be weekends, makes programming quick and easy. Was simple to connect, my only complaint is that the knock out holes on the left and bottom left are obstructed by the ground terminal, so it's only really possible to install strain relief for 10 AWG cables on right and bottom right knockouts. We were able to convert our simple EV car charger to a smart one to save us hydro bills.

For a spring install for the pool,At 1st glance, it’s a good by the fact that you can choose 120V or 240V and others,The door is removable which can help in the install process,There are no cable glands/strain relief adaptors but you can use 3/4 or 1’’,Wish list: a rubber seal around the door would be nice, 4 stars

Hooked it up to my electric hot water tank to shut it off when not there. Easy wiring with basic electrical knowledge and super easy to connect and use with the app.

Most importantly, it may look like a weatherproof product but it is not. The timer will need to be in a protected space. It is not equipped with any water protection. The plastic castings are poorly made and no seals are present on the door. If the timer is exposed to weather it will quickly corrode and stop working. I don’t see any UL certification on this…It will get the job done but I don’t think it can handle 40 amps for a long time, it is equipped with cheap generic relays. The circuit board is nice though. Big leads and giant solder joints. It is quite easy to set up and is equipped with a small battery for memory backup. This small battery is easily replaceable.I am one advocating for quality products, especially when it comes to high power electric devices. I do not recommend this timer unless price is really important to you. For peace of mind, just buy a quality name brand product. Yes it will be 4 times the price but at least it will be weather proof, UL certified and will stand the test of time.
