I purchased this timer to control a whole-house fan. Allows me to turn on the fan during the evening to cool the house down for nicer sleeping. Timer works perfectly. Displays the time remaining by illuminating one of the five control settings - these advance downward as the time expires. I am happy with the product. It does everything I expected. No surprises. Works great, but doesn't include the cover plate.

Needed to replace a time switch for a whole house fan and this did the trick.

I built a portable junction box with a wall plug pig tail for the timer so I can carry it to different rooms. Mainly I use the timer for an electric floor heater in my office. Sometimes I get distracted and inadvertently leave my heater on; this automatic shut off timer solves that problem. It is so easy to turn on for a short time period. The time select button protrudes up from the timer body about 3/16" and I can simply tap the timer button with my foot to turn on the heater. This is fantastically convenient. My wife likes it because there is no 'ticking' sound to disturb the quiet of the room.At $32, this is expensive as all get out and I plan to build another timer (probably more than two) and I am going to experiment with the Woods $13 timer. If there are problems, I will use the inexpensive Wood somewhere else and buy the very expensive Intermatic to make my friends happy.

Nice little timer -a series of buttons to select desired time15 min to 4h - also press to turn off wheneversome more info: you'll need a neutral wire -which is not always the white wire u may see in a switch box -especially if there are only two wires, in those cases you have no neutral just power in and out interrupted by the switch .. I installed in a very old house, and back in the day they switched the neutral line for some reason; so instead of interrupting the hot on a switch, the neutral is used as a switch leg .. anyway this should be rare .. I had to rework the wires around in the box to get the hot wire and neutral connected to this switch as well as the switch leg to be a power going up to light and not the neutral (neutral spliced in sw box, constant connection to light)

This countdown timer was easy to install and works great. Be aware that the installation instructions say you must have a white neutral wire available. I did not have one on the circuit I was switching (just hot) but was able to tie into an adjacent circuit's neutral which worked fine. The one thing the timer is missing is a way to override the timer and put it in an untimed on mode.
