Replaced an older dishwasher that had been hardwired from the breaker box to the dishwasher. The new dishwasher is a Bosch that has a special plug interface instead of a hardwire connection point.The adapter junction box was just made for this situation and made connecting the power to the Bosch easy. Just take the existing wires that were used on the old equipment, open the cover on the juction box, run the wires(white/black/green or copper) into the junction box, match color for color(green is commonly used for copper), screw them down to the terminal connection, close the cover, mount the junction box inside one of your kitchen cabinets(not behind the dishwasher, or on the floor underneath the dishwasher) and you're ready to plug in the dishwasher. Easy peesy!

In looking at the unit, it does make hooking up easier but... depending on electrical code... you could just hard wire the washer wire into a dedicated electrical box.

They can melt and maybe catch on fire. I made a junction box out of standard parts, much better and cheaper too.
