I am the owner of a cabinet shop, and was needing a tongue and groove bit to make some Shaker panels for a bar back. was not to sure about this bit as the specs doesn't show the dimensions of the cutting bits. I was working with 3/4 material and needed it to cut in 1/4" incraments. Took a chance, and it worked out just fine. had no problem with the delivery, and it arrived a day earlier than expected. For the money, this was well worth the cost, and it served my needs very well. I would recommend this bit in a minute.

Came coated in a gum so teeth wouldn't chip or rust. The teeth are big and can easily be sharpened, probably many times. They're as big as the teeth on a good circular saw blade. The teeth are honed sharp. It buzzes through oak like nothing as long as you have a good 3HP router you can make joints all day. The 1/2 shank keeps the shank from warping in high torque applications. A bit like this creates a lot of resistance.I got one used from Amazon Warehouse once. It arrived with one of the teeth chipped because the gum wasn't covering the entire bit. I returned it with free shipping back and they refunded my money no questions asked.

Having never attempted tongue and grove before, I was really surprised at how well this worked. However, it is apparent that the manufacturer presupposes knowledge of the configuration(s) that can be used and so there is no information regarding how to use (or not use) the shims that are part of the assemblage, leaving one to the trial and error approach. But once determined, the cuts are perfectly made so that a very tight fit is achieved.

should come with washers you can't tighten up cutter after you remove top cutter this is not a cheap bit have bought cheaper ones that come with washers for what the bit cost you would think they could afford to give you some washers with this bit

Works great. I already have slot cutters so I don't need to take it apart. 1st 1/2" bit, feels more solid than 1/4" shanks.

Item comes in a pouch with no instructions. You pretty much have to know how to use it or play around with it, risking gashed hands to use it for cutting grooves. However, once setup, it works really well.
