Plug taps are ideal for cutting right-hand internal threads; they are the most widely used type of tap, with three to five threads chamfered for general-purpose applications. The included drill bit is matched to the tap for the proper hole size. The bit is designed with split points to reduce bit walking for clean, accurate starts. The bit’s speed helix design promotes fast drilling. The plug tap is recommended when there is sufficient room on a blind hole and tapping to the bottom of a hole is not critical. Made from heat-treated carbon steel, it is a rust- and tarnish-resistant tool. The rolled threads are more accurate and cleaner than machined threads. They are tooled to the most exacting specifications to ensure that bolts anchor securely. Laser-etched marking ensures size identification and won't wear off. They feature a precise flute design to ensure fast and easy chip clearance.

I had to fix something and couldn't find the proper screws; I got this kit, re-tapped the holes and VOILA!!! All good again.I would recommend this product.

Drilling the hole to the included no36 and then trying to tap it puts a lot of chips and strain on the tap and flutes and requires constant untreading to clean it. This does give great results with nice threads.Drilled the holes out to 1/8" and power tap them holes, i don't have all day for too small of a bit, and with the engagement I'm getting on my project, it doesn't matter.

In moving, I discovered I was missing this 6-32 tap from my set. I purchased this to replace the missing one. I have not used it but it looks just like the rest of my set taps. So I'm happy, should I need this size tap, I won't be missing it now.

Cut clean but used cutting oil. No issues. Treaded around 20 holes with no change in quality.

Good for the price. Drilled and tapped a bunch of holes in aluminum with no issues. Convenient with the drill bit and tap bundled together. Adequate quality for typical light/homeowner use.
