First off, yes this thing is heavy, but…… it’s jam packed full of features, and the power is just as good as its corded brother. Came perfectly square out of the box. Perfect cuts, smooth sliding action, and runs on the profactor battery platform. there isn’t much more you could want from a miter saw. If you’re in the market for the best, this would definitely fit that catagory! Every time I walk in my shop, I look at it and smile. Waiting for the next time I’m going to use it

There was one main thing I was looking forward to with this saw; the relatively compact space-requirements while it's in-use. (It is quite a tidy little footprint, considering it's a 12" chopsaw.) I also needed it to be battery powered. The battery is still new to me, but for me, it is lasting through a couple days of cutting (trim and engineered hardwood) between charges, which is great. It's pricey, though. To me = is worth it. (Especially since it gives me one more battery and charging charging station, that is compatible with other tools I'm already using)

07-11-2021Speechless...I have been a Residential and Commercial carpenter (all aspects of) for the past 30 years. My intention is to make this a multi-part review over the next year... let's hope I can follow through with that statement. From my initial review I have to preface with every piece of equipment has pros and cons, there is no perfect piece of equipment or perfect tool, that being said the "pros" of this saw far outweigh the few "cons" that exist. With 30 years of experience in the construction industry infinite carpentry this all will allow you to make Cuts you never thought possible...If you're in the market for a new saw I highly recommend the Bosch surgeon...If you are a carpenter that cuts baseboard standing up, or a carpenter that does not compound cut & cope your crown moldings you might disagree with what I have to say, should my threat of a multi part review come to fruition.Hands down, after 30 years of using a "chop" saw from Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, Delta, Harbour Freight, Craftsman, etc. This is THE most accurate, easy, intuitive saw I have ever had the opportunity to use. This is not to say the saw is perfect, just to say that it is the best IMO.Stay tuned ðŸ˜

GREAT POWER, DOES NOT NEED OPTION FOR LOWER SPEED'S, FULL POWER IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. GOOD BATTERY LIFE. HAD TO REMOVE THE DUST COLLECTION TO CUT 3-1/2"x14" JOIST. WOULD BE NICE IF IT WENT OFF AND ON MORE QUICKLY THAN 3 SCREWS. NEED'S TOP CARRYING HANDLE. HAS VERY NICE FUNCTION AND ADJUSTABILTIES.

Its the best saw of its kind. The corded one is the best, look it up, and this is a copy of it... so it is by default the best.

I’ve been trimming homes for roughly 20 years now and have always used Dewalt miter saws. I have the DW716 and 717 and honestly really like both of them. This is my first Bosch miter saw and I purchased it simply because I am on their battery platform already so I wanted to give it a try, especially with all of the positive reviews of the Axial. This saw has been in my possession now for around a month and I’m still getting the feel of it. The saw has wonderful first impressions. Its fit and finish is excellent. The saw cuts smooth and has plenty of power to do what needs done. Most times I’m cutting on level 2 out of the 3 speeds (4 if you count Eco mode). An 8.0 battery typically will last me half a day of nearly solid cutting of casing, baseboard, shoe, etc. I kept hearing how heavy this style of saw is, but I don’t think it was all that much to complain about. I’m fairly impressed with the dust collection of this saw when you have a vacuum hooked up to it. There are several areas that I feel could be improved upon though. Not huge complaints, but things that could make this saw that much better.- First off, the LED light is on the motor side, so when you bring the saw down, it casts a shadow on the left side. This is the dominant side I cut on. Might not be for everyone. It would be helpful if the light could be centered somehow.- Secondly, I kind of hate lasers. Oftentimes I hold the casing, or whatever I’m cutting up tight to the blade to mimic the gap I’m trying to fix, but the lasers make this impossible to see. It would be beneficial to be able to switch these off. My Dewalt miter saws has an LED shining directly down the center of the blade which casts a shadow to represent the cut line. This also provides centered light on the work piece. Might be good for Bosch to make an LED setup that will directly replace the lasers if the user prefers that. Also, my laser lenses after a month of use have chips on them from pieces being deflected in the housing. Who’s to say how they’ll look after a year and longer. There’s no real protection for these lenses.- In connection with the laser/LED/battery gauge readout, the actual switch itself needs to be depressed back to the safety in order for these to be turned on. To me this is going to be bad once someone gets so used to this saw and it’s basically muscle memory. They may accidentally pull the trigger with the safety engaged while just trying to see the laser. It might be safer if the safety slide would activate these features as opposed to the switch.- The saw has advertised a 7 1/4†tall cut capacity when standing a piece up. It should be noted that this is not the case when you turn the saw to 45° on the right side. The housing hits the piece if it is any thicker than 3/8â€. Dewalt made this same housing piece a cone shape which surprisingly enough created a gap big enough for 3/4†thick material to be cut on a 45° at 7†tall.- Another user mentioned that the machining on the table and fences are pretty rough, and I’d have to agree. It can be tough when you’re trying to slide your workpiece that 1/16†or an 1/8†to your cut line.- Lastly, I’ve had to be diligent when making cuts because it seems that when the guard wheels touch the table, the head moves ever so slightly which creates some deflection. Strange. Just something you have to be conscience of.In closing, it is a great saw. It’s a pleasure to use. But like every single tool on the market, there are pros and cons. With some small adjustments, this saw will be top notch.*UPDATE*It truly is amazing how you need to get used to a saw. This saw has been growing on me over the past several months as I'm learning all of it's nuances. It is a very accurate and reliable saw. I was able to notice a significant improvement in quality over my old saw when I had to cut more precise pieces such as pre-finished cabinet moldings. This may hurt some of you on here to read, but I used it to cut treated 2x for garage stairs (general purpose blade of course). The saw had zero issues cutting through it. I could be wrong but it seemed like it even had more power and less resistance than my corded one.One of my big concerns was dust collection. I've always had a corded saw, so it was never an issue. But now that I have this battery powered one, there was nothing to plug into the dust extractor to activate it. Come to find out, the Festool bluetooth remote pockets almost perfectly on the handle so that when you go to pull the trigger, you can press the button to activate the dust collector. I did make a little plastic seat for the remote to sit on, but it's not necessary. This is great because you can run the vac at full power, and keep it running for multiple cuts (the vacuum always turned off just as I was ready to pull the trigger again). Also I had to make an adapter for my Festool hoses, but again, not necessary.I did have one run in with Bosch when I was spending some time fine tuning it, and the tech that I spoke with was great! It was clear that he had a lot of experience and knowledge with this saw. That is one huge plus! They have been a great company to deal with. All in all, this saw has really been a pleasure to use.

Bought this saw to use for building my house, absolutely love it. Definitely compares to cordless, and that’s only been with an 8amp battery. I have the corded version at my work, and it really surprises me. We’ve been cutting 9 1/2†LVL, floor joists, 2x4,2x6, etc and have had no problems. Hardly even bogs down. Definitely recommend!
