I recently lost a push-type remover that I had been using for a long time and ordered this one as a replacement. This one works very well; it is easy to use and doesn't rip papers up the way the claw-style removers do.To minimize/prevent tearing when there only a few sheets bound together and the staple is near the edge, you need to flip the paper over and loosen the open ends of the staple before removing the staple. This is true of all push-type removers.

Not much to say: it does exactly what it's supposed to reliably!Stop trying to lever out huge staples with the corner of a metal ruler or with the office-duty letter staple remover! This is safer for your fingers and vastly more effective!

I'll never go back to the clip-type staple remover! This style is the bomb - just slide it under the staple, it lifts it out without tearing the paper.

I use this staple remover to pull staples from old magazines before cutting off the spines and scanning using a document scanner. I downgraded the overall rating one star because this device does break the lightweight paper used to print magazines, creating lots of tiny paper chips and a ragged edge. Still, I've never seen any other tool that would remove these heavy stables used in magazine bindings without similar damage.

I work in an office and use this staple remover multiple times a day. There are many versions of this remover... one had a lever that would eject the staple, which never worked and was awkward to hold. One remover looked like alligator jaws, which always tore the paper. This is the best one, fits comfortably in your hand, it's black, so you see it in your desk (which the inside of mine is beige). and you get minimal tearing of the paper. As a matter of fact, if you turn the paper over, where the two ends of the staple are facing each other and life each side up, turn the paper over again and insert the remover and gently lift up, you will only see the two holes where the staple was. This is the best one!

I recently had a monster of a scanning project at work that involved removing staples from thousands of documents. I very quickly got sick of the claw type remover provided by work, which was ineffective and ripped paper. This is SO much better. I paid for it with my own money, but I have no regrets.
