TLDR version: spend the extra bucks and buy this one for your office.Stapler received today, loaded it up and started stapling.Same noise level as Swingline 45 Pro stapler, and no different than any other mid-duty electric staplers I've owned in the past.I noticed that the two side staple storage trays people have mentioned in earlier reviews don't exist anymore.Must be in a now collector's prior version of this staple, and shown in the 6 year old YouTube video show ability to store 2 full staple refills inside the machine.Store trays are gone now, and inside the machine the plastic black housing is flat surfaced to prevent any stapes storing.OK by me as long the stapler doesn't jam.I was hesitant to purchase this machine because of the "crown" staples that I thought were going to be a pain to keep separate refill box with these "special" staples.However, the crown design isn't too high and left me pondering using them in a regular Swingline 747 stapler.Investigated and discovered crown staples are slightly narrower than plain ordinary 1/4" staples and don't fit in my Swingline 747 manual stapler. In fact, the crown ones fit snugly between the tines of ordinary staples. How's that for TMI minutiae you didn't know you you didn't know :-)That means more staples to store.Oh well...One suggestion I have for the Bostich engineers in their next version update is to add capacity for 3/8" staples to staple in the 60 to 70 page range. OR perhaps there's already a secret link on Bostich website to order 3/8" staples? I haven't explored their website yet.Point of reference for Bostich staplers and me is the model B300HDS manual heavy duty stapler that I bought in 1978. It's still working just dandy, almost beastly in its lasting 47 years stapling tax return sets.If this new B8 Impulse 45 works like my B300HDS, I'll be using it when I'm 117 years old....As I wrote at the start of my review: buy this one for your office. It's worth the price.

It makes a horrible and loud "bang" when you staple. It is so loud that my coworkers complained.It needs special staples, even though the stapling reloading is standard.Mine was defective. There is a silly screw right on the way where you insert the paper that is not tightened properly that is always bumping with the paper as I try to staple. Thus, I end up wasting time to carefully insert the paper not to get stuck by the screw (and of course, there is no way to tighten the screw unless you disassemble the whole thing). So, the whole purpose of the fast stapling is gone!I am so done with electric staples. I had another one from a different brand that amazed me and was working wonders until it started messing up with the roll of staples, with the staples, etc.I just want to say that it is shame on those designing this simple stuff. It is the XXI century and humans cannot get a decent electric stapler right!

Some have commented that it is loud when used. We use it regularly and yes you can hear it but it's not like what's been described by others to us.We've not had even one failure using it. Would buy again if needed.As of about a month ago, the stapler failed at times, failed completely at other times and sometimes when you're not even near it - it goes off. I contacted Bostitch and I printed out a return form and mailed it to them. It's now been over a month and NO contact from Bostitch. This item was purchased in March 12, 2018, so it was in service about 5 MONTHS and cost $47.89. There had been NO damage to it. If Bostitch does not respond I will change this review to "Completely unacceptable" as it didn't even last 6 months. Waiting????WELL the wait is over! While I had received no communication from Bostitch, yesterday (10-03-2018) I received a package in the mail. Bostitch has send me a replacement stapler!!! This one is a little different in design/shape and it has been plugged in and it's working as it should. Hopefully all will go well!! Bostitch is to be commended for their follow through and I appreciate it VERY much. Up grading my rating to 5 stars due to Bostitch's response. They did listen. Thanks - will keep you posted on the new stapler.

THIS IS ONE SERIOUS ELECTRIC STAPLER. IT GOES THROUGH 30-40 PAGES EASILY AND MAKES A CLEAN STAPLE.
