When I bought my 2014 camper, the awning strap that came with it was incredibly cheap and flimsy. It tore the first time I tried to open the awning, and continued to do so repeatedly until it was in pieces. Fed up with the hassle, I found this replacement strap—and what a difference it's made! This one is sturdy with a larger plastic piece and a robust strap reminiscent of a tie-down. The only downside is that the plastic part protrudes slightly, causing minor ripples in the awning when fully extended, but these fade quickly. I'll take that small trade-off any day over dealing with a broken strap again. If you're looking for a reliable replacement, this is definitely the way to go!

These straps seem like quality material with heavy nylon rail inserts. Time will tell how well they hold up.They come with weighted doubled over and sewn ends. Unfortunately the straps were too long for my awning when rolled up so I had to trim them back.I would buy again.

We just replaced our trailer awning and wanted to start with a fresh new strap. This strap is of good quality, longer than our old one which was always a struggle, we have a large awning and a tall trailer, so that’s what we wanted. The guide fit nicely into the track, but the plastic loop where the strap is anchored stuck out too far we felt, at least on our reel. We were concerned that over time it would damage the awning material. We were past the 30 day return window, so we cut the plastic and used a piece of poly cord through the strap loop, as the previous owner had done, and slid it in the track. Seemed to work okay.Update: The seller reached out to me right away and offered to help, which I didn’t expect. I really appreciate and am very pleased with the great customer service!!

The advertisement said to remove the end of the awning roll and insert the new strap end in the slot. That proved somewhat difficult because the end of my awning roll is assembled firstly with square-headed screws and two rivets indicating that it is not meant to be taken apart possibly. It did seem dangerously like taking that thing apart might be like opening a Jack in the box . Finally I researched it on YouTube and everybody on YouTube has a clever way of installing this by not removing the end but drilling a diagonal hole in the slot down on the end and tapping it in a tight hole and then sliding it to its destination in the center of the awning. It seems to have worked quite well! I couldn't find a single person on YouTube that installed one by disassembling the awning end to assess the other course. I chose the Youtube plan as the safer more sure bet. Diagonal whole had to be a bit bigger than the insert to manage it in- as the insertion is a bit cornerish.

I didn't really need two of them as my last one worked for 26 years, so would have preferred a cheaper price for only one.I did not take the awning caps off as I didn't want to rewind the awning, so I put them in another available slot and drilled a "stopper" screw.I thought they would be too long, but they are just right for reaching when the awning is closed. I used a small bunji to secure the end to the other side of the awning to it is "quick access" in case of wind, yet doesn't flop around.Impressively well made.
