Question 1: Why does brake fluid tester show 1.5%-2.5% when testing brand new DOT3 brake fluid? Is the brake fluid tester inaccurate?
Answer: The qualities of brake fluid vary greatly among the market currently. Now the quality of DOT3 brake fluid is generally not good on the market. In fact, DOT3 brake fluid is not suitable for the requirements of current cars at this stage. Most brake fluid testers on the market will also show 1.5%-2.5% water content or turn on the yellow light when testing the brand new DOT3 brake fluid.
Question 2: How to verify the accuracy of the brake fluid tester?

Operation Steps:
1. Install 1pc 9V(6F22) battery at the back of tester.
2. After inserting the battery, press POWER button to turn on the tester, all analog bars turns off with buzzer sounding, indicates the product self-test is successfully finished.
3. Press DOT3, DOT4, DOT5.1 button to switch brake fluid type to test.
4. Insert the probe into brake fluid, At this moment, the number of analog bars shows the water ratio in the liquid. When the water ratio is more than 3%, the LCD screen backlight will turn red, and the buzzer will alarm that the brake fluid needs to be replaced.
5. Press POWER button to turn off the tester.
Other Functions:
1. Mute function
Press the mute button to display the mute symbol, then the detector will not sound an alarm.
2. LCD backlight function
Press the backlight button, the white screen backlight to open, then press the backlight button to turn off the backlight.
3. Battery check
Press the power check button, the screen symbol turns on and the analog bar shows the remaining battery capacity at this time.
4. Low voltage warning
When the battery power is low, the symbol automatically turns on to remind replacement of the battery as soon as possible.
Note:
1. After use, please clean the probe and avoid any retention of stains that might affect the test.
2. If in use for a long time, best to remove all batteries and store in a dry place at normal room temperature.

My first time I used this tester I got a 1.5% and a 2.5%, I will be doing maintenance to my cars replacing the brake fluids and see if I get the same reading with the new brake fluid to determine the inquires of this brake fluid tester. Appears to be working at this time. You need to have a 9V battery that is one of the cons I have at this time since 9V battery are hard to find now days. I will give an update after I finish with the brake replacement to all my cars.

I conducted a test on my car's current brake oil, and the results showed a 1.5% concentration, aligning with my expectations since the oil was replaced a few months ago. Similarly, I tested for plain water, and the results displayed as all red, as anticipated. Therefore, it appears that the tester is functioning as intended.However, I have a couple of concerns to address. Firstly, the kit does not include the required 9V battery, which is inconvenient, and it's worth noting that this battery type is becoming less common. Secondly, I've observed that the indicator lights are not very visible in broad daylight, but they are more discernible when in the shade.

Ok so this works I’m not sure if it’s correct I checked my fluid and it said a 2 but not sure if that’s correct. It does take batteries and I’m going to change my fluid and see if the number changes.

Sucks that this didnt come with a battery and then its one of those rectangular ones. Actually using it it did a pretty good job. Im in Las Vegas so i we dont really have humid air but i wanted to check my motorcycles brake fluid and so far its read it with a less than 1% reading.
