I needed this ball valve for my coolant over flow tank to the radiator, I replaced my radiator with an after market one. However the factory radiator has a built in restrictor for the amount of coolant to bleed off into the overflow reservoir, the new one did not and causing my engine to not heat up properly or use heat in Minnesota winter. Cut the hose in half installed this with the supplied clamps opened the valve very little and my engine heats up normal again. Very easy to install, great value for the price, very durable with no leaking. Since I couldn’t find a restrictor this functions just the same. Thankyou very much

Used this valve as a heater core shut off valve. Valve seems well built and was available. Usually I'd buy this at the box store, but this pricing was better and exactly what I needed. The valve is bright and clean, so if you're looking for something more inconspicuous on a classic car for example, maybe mask off the ribbed nipples and spray with high temp black paint. I wasn't too bothered and just snipped my heater core line, and put this valve in. It works really well to stop hot coolant flow through the core in the summer months. I was melting from the heat coming from under my dash. With this simple update, I shut the valve in the warmer months, and open it up in the cooler months.

I think it should work ok, yet valve stem is not as tight and has some play.

These ball valves are 5/8 inch push on hose ends that no one in my area has, Louis, Home Dept, and many other stores!!!! I use them for cars heater hose as most electric valves go bad!!!

5/8 auto heater hose to cut off the water line going into the heat coil.. it gets warm inside the 86 f150 short bed even with the heat turned off. So until I get the heater door to close tight enough I’ll cut the heat completely off.
