We gifted this dutch oven/bread pan to our daughter who loves baking sourdough bread. She LOVES it! It's really cute and does a great job cooking sourdough bread. Up until recently, our daughter has been using a big 6 qt dutch oven for her breads, so I was a bit concerned that this would be too small. I needn't have worried. Yes, this 5-qt vessel is smaller than the 6-qt one she was using before--but her loaves (approx 900 g) fit fine in this dutch oven--and an added bonus is that now she can fit this dutch oven along with another 5-qt dutch oven in the oven at the same time, saving on cooking time. Another worry I had was that the grooves on the bottom of the pan would make weird indentations in the bread loaves--my daughter uses parchment paper and said that helped it so those grooves aren't a concern for her. All in all, I'm really happy we got this dutch oven.

My parents told me about how the cloche shape is ideal for sourdough so on I go to Amazon and thought this design was adorable.Used it today and it created the most perfect sourdough!!! The quality is heavy duty and it's easy to clean. I'm super impressed!!!

I made my first sourdough bread last week and it came out perfectly. (I was surprised and impressed!) It is cast iron so it is heavy, especially with the lid on, but it baked the bread evenly. It is easy to clean (just wiped it out). It was in the middle of the price range and it did a good job for the price. Well pleased!
