This is the sort of product where you think, "Why didn't they go the whole way?" The bucket itself is well made and looks good. The scoop is likewise a good design & well made, although it remains to be seen if it's better than tongs. I expect the metal scoop will scratch the interior. Other parts are not so well made. , The handle looks cheap and has sharp edges. I wish I could remove it. The top also has sharp edges. The top comes with an elastic band that provides a seal, but on the one I received the band had small patches of dirt, perhaps of dirty glue. I removed the band and was able to scrub off all the dirt except a tiny bit. There was also a small nick in the top edge of the main body, but it will probably get more nicks in time anyway. This bucket does not have an insert for the bottom to raise the ice above the water that will drip down, but I'll bet I can find something to do that. Some reviewers thought this model was smaller than expected, but it seems big enough for a small gathering where not everyone may need ice. I looked at many ice buckets online and most of those with an affordable price looked like fingerprint magnets or had other problems. This one is good enough.

I loved the look of this ice bucket. Many others I looked at reminded me of a paint can.I didn't actually measure but it seems to be able to fit appox. 4-5 of my medium size ice cube trays which make 12 ea.I recomment tongs to grab the ice which it doesn't come with one.I did purchase a 2qt, different style bucket because I wanted to be able to fit it on the dining table. The smaller one I purchased was made the same way and it kept the ice in its cubed form for many hours, plenty long enough to last for a dinner party. I wish I could have used the 3qt one too.

My grandson and his wife were delighted with this gift. They love to entertain, and I had noticed on my first visit to their new townhome that this was an item they were missing. Once they open the gift, they immediately rinsed it out and used it even by the end of the day it still had ice in it, they love the look and had lots of compliments on it. The size is perfect, and I would highly recommend it.

I often set up food for events and these are a perfect solution to have ice at your beverage serving station. They are neutral but pleasant and appearance and insulated well so that the ice will hold for hours without sweating on your table coverings.
