I've tried a few different hatching devices over the past year and I had problems with the amount of BBS I hatch getting clogged in the output tubing. I needed something with a bigger output than the needle sized hole on the bottom of my cylindrical hatchery. This is great. Not only do you get more space with the 2-liter bottle, you have the easy to control spigot. I appreciate the holes around the lid to accommodate my heater and thermometer cords. I'm also surprised at how sturdy it is considering how easy it was to put together. The video makes assembly very simple.

As far as brine shrimp hatcheries go, this is definitely on the more expensive side. Materials appear to be 3D printed and very durable. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Device is simple to put together. Initially, I had an issue with airflow coming out of the base. It would start strong and within a day or two, the flow would slow down or stop all together because of what appeared to be a blockage of some sort. I reached out to customer support, and Dave was very helpful, sending me out a replacement base which solved the problem.Overall, I would recommended this product if you're going to need a lot of brine shrimp. If you're just looking for something small, I would steer you elsewhere. The legs and rounded base seem a little overkill. To improve, I suggest lowering the center of gravity and widen the base a little bit more and get rid of the legs to maybe reduce on parts and lower costs. But I suppose the higher height could be to convenient fit a cup under the spout, which I believe is unnecessary.

I do appreciate how well-built this hatchery kit is. Easy to assemble and the shape of the actual container (2-liter bottle...not provided) keeps the brine shrimp eggs suspended even with lower air flow they stay off the bottom. That is why this hatchery is the best for the actual hatch rate. The cons are that it is hard to clean. You have to fully remove the bottle from the spout to fit it in a normal-sized bathroom sink. I keep my hatcheries upstairs so I am sure it would fit in my kitchen sink downstairs but that is not convenient for me. I also had an issue with the bottle leaking the last batch I hatched and had to transfer the water and eggs to a different container because I couldn't get the leaking to stop. I am not sure if the seal wasn't seated right...but I just set it up again with another batch of eggs and so far it is not leaking. I do think the cost for this is a little steep especially since the actual container is not provided. Overall, it is a good hatchery but I will probably not be purchasing another one because of the cost, leaking issue, and how hard it is to clean it out.

works just fine and is a pretty good design. I added structural improvements by gluing the 3 legs to the support ring. Works better for my application now. zipties are needed and they provide 1 which is good.

This hatchery is a perfect make and I’d recommend it to anyone I use to manage a fish store and specifically brought this hatchery up to tell them buy this don’t buy or make a crazy thing just spend the few bucks save yourself the hassle and start hatching brine

I've been hatching baby brine shrimp for years for betta spawns using various DIY hatcheries that always left a lot to be desired. When I saw this floating around, I initially balked at the price, yet couldn't help returning to the product page again and again to stare longingly at it. Then finally, I caved and got the deluxe.Putting together this thing was pretty straightforward and I had no problems hatching copious amounts of bbs on my first try with it. I really like the ease of draining the bbs using the exit drain. However, I do wish the exit drain was longer. Although the height is good, the legs make it a bit clumsy to put a bbs net and measuring cup beneath for collection. I ended up having to jostle everything around a bit, so it wasn't as seamlessly as I'd like. One thing I was surprised to see was a pipecleaner included, with a little note on using it for if the airline channel or exit drain becomes clogged. Given that clogs were mentioned in various reviews at the time of purchase, it was the one downside I was worried about. Fortunately, it looks like the seller took that to heart, so now I don't have to worry if I encounter the same issue down the line. (Plus, now I know that compressed air can be used to unclog things as well.)Overall, very pleased with this. I hope it is indeed rugged enough for daily hatchings so that it becomes a staple in my fish room. If so, I'll have to get a second one!
