I got this so my 1 1/2 year old and 3 year old won't climb my daughter's top bunk bed. I haven't used it much because the younger ones don't feel comfortable climbing up the ladder because it's on a vertical angle. I buckled the top first and struggled to do the sides. The top buckle was sufficient enough to keep the little ones from trying. I like how it's compact, and I can easily fold it together and keep it near the ladder without being in the way. It does what it's intended for, but for my ladder it was difficult to put the side buckles on.

The pad is pretty durable and strong. It doesn’t bend easy. It does fold nicely though. However, there is not enough webbing for me to get the buckles to snap around my wood ladder. There is only about 20 inches of webbing (3†on one side, 17†on the other, plus the buckle, which is just under 3†when together) to go around side to side. At the top (to go around a step to keep it from falling down) the webbing is only about 7 inches, with the buckle all the way to the pad.
