I have several stairs in my house so decided to get these and give them a try. It actually works pretty well although it takes some getting used to. For the most part it is pretty stable but you do need to exercise some caution when using it, especially when you have extended the ladder to a large height.

Opened the box and the main bolt was bent and almost pulled through the channel that holds it. looked as if it had been used previously.

In my old house I used to struggle to manage painting, hanging photos, and installing blinds on windows that were perched above stairs with high ceilings. It was a feature I loved about the house but didn't realize the impracticality of how to manage them until I needed to. I crafted dangerous fixes and luckily survived them, but avoided any followups as a result. We moved to a new place that has similarly high ceilings and awkward stairs for any diy wall adjustments/painting/swapping ceiling fans. This is a game changer that makes these things straightforward. We feel secure with the extendable ladder on this unit, and have been able to check some DIY projects off our list.

I have a large wall space going up a staircase that I'd like to hang things on, but getting to it is difficult and I've put myself in some dangerous positions before and gotten lucky. Rather than run out of luck, I ordered this adjustable stand for using a ladder on stairs. Make sure that your ladder's feet aren't too big for the dimensions of the platform, and then you're pretty much good to go. It comes somewhat assembled, but the instructions are pretty good and I figured out the rest. It's sturdy and stable, but a bit tricky to adjust. In the end, I suspect that's a good thing, because it's unlikely that anything is going to slip out of place with this once you've chosen a height and an extension.

We have a spiral staircase in our home with an alcove at the top (why builders do this i do not know!) && it’s hard to use a ladder in order to safely place decor or clean. This ladder extender is helpful. It’s heavy and sturdy, definitely reducing the fear/risk of falling. Easy and convenient to have at home.

The first thing I noticed about this was the weight. It's heavy. I view that as a very good thing, especially when buying something to put on stairs to support a large ladder. I plan on using it in the future and will update my review accordingly if there are any negatives, but initial impressions are this is a VERY solid support system and I'm looking forward to using it.Would recommend.

There’s flexibility in how you position this on the stairs. There are pads on the bottom to prevent slipping. Height is adjustable so depending on your stairs, you can make a nice stable platform. Top shelf is extended to allow for ladders with wide bases. Unscrew the hardware and you can get the unit to store in a flat manner. Take pictures so you remember how to reassemble it when needed. Won’t need this every day, but when you do, you’ll be glad you have it for safety purposes.
