This was purchased quite a while back but after using it I didn't think to come straight back and post a customer review. I used this for two different rifles. One in an older Winchester Model 190 .22 long rifle. After about 30 years owning this Winchester I decided to "splurge" on a new scope to replace the one it originally came with. The other a new Ruger American 30.06. The scope for the .22 is a Bushnell fixed 4x32 and the scope for the 30.06 is 3-9 power Redfield Evolution. This boresigher does exactly what it claims to do. I sighted them at home then took them to the range. The 30.06 was hitting about 3 inches to the right initially and the .22 was hitting about 4 inches left at 11:00. Took only minor adjustments on both to get good center mass groupings. The boresighter essentially paid for itself just in cost savings sighting two rifles without going through a couple boxes of ammo for each to get on the paper. Also, if you are into the math and use the directions that accompany the product it would be possible to figure trajectory and use the grid pattern of the boresighter to get initial settings for longer range targets. If there is one recommendation I would make to Bushnell it's this. Add a level to the boresighter to alleviate the need to look through the scope and align the grid to the scope reticles. This would make set up easier and it would also serve to ensure the scope is mounted correctly (reticles true vertical and horizontal).

Purchased this as first boresighter I have owned or used. Very, very impressed with quality and finish. Even the case is well designed and looks good. I had 3 guns that I needed a quick reference on before I took to range - 1 pistol and 2 ARs. I did a poor man's setup using this kit, which means I lined everything up "best guess" without a gun vise. Kit was easy to use basically self-explanatory.Took the guns to range and found I was very, very close after using this kit. Within a couple of inches at 50 yards for rifles and just as good at 15 yards with the pistol. I was able to adjust in to bullseye easily with a few more adjustments and shots.I suspect if you are super particular and have a gun vise and patience, you could really get tight prior to the range. But for a quick setup and to get on paper to start adjustments, this kit is perfect. I debated this or laser kits, and this is so simple and time-tested AND doesn't need batteries or low light. Also can use it at home.

The two larger size arbors work fine. The .22-.27 arbor I have will not go into a .22 rimfire or centerfire bore. It is adjusted to the smallest position, in which the expanding cone is loose, but won't enter the bore. After examination, I saw that the expander cone was still in the expanding fingers when fully loosened. The internal stem was too short or the arbor housing is too long. I removed the small nut and cone, then unscrewed the stem. After removing about 0. 050 inch from the big end of the arbor housing on my grinder, I reassembled it and it worked fine, fitting into several .22 bores. It was an easy fix, but shouldn't have needed it.

I have an old (1927) Savage Model 99 carbine in 30-30 Winchester with a Weaver K4 60B scope that needed to be sighted in. After mounting, I took one shot and missed the target completely. Adjusted the scope using the boresighter and went back outside. Range was fifty yards. First shot hit the target. Got it more or less sighted in with three more shots. While good enough to hit the heart/lung region in a deer-sized animal, I still have room for improvement, so as soon as the weather improves, I have more time available and have slugged the bore and decided what bullets I am going to use, I will assemble some handloads and go back out to the backyard range.I've used these optical devices at stores where I've worked over the years and never had any issues. I was not especially looking forward to trying to use a laser sighter so was glad to find that Bushnell still makes an optical one. Obsolete they may be, but they still work, and I don't need no stinkin' batteries!

I was kinda skeptical, and didn't know what to expect when I ordered this. But, boy, am I glad I did. I had a rifle that I had just put a new variable power scope on. It really needed to be bore sighted. I verified that the scope was level to the rifle, grabbed the correct insert, and put it in the sighting scope, and placed it in the barrel. Using a lead sled to keep the rifle steady, it's just a matter of putting the scope cross hairs on the center of the little target you see in the boresight. Easy. So, took the rifle out to zero it today. WOW! I am impressed. Dead on left to right, and only about 5 inches high. A few clicks, to adjust the height, and couple more rounds to verify, and it was dead on. The cost saving on "shooting around" to find the zero amazing. Total of 8 rounds fired and gun is dead on. I would recommend this tool.

I have tried many different bore sighters in the past of lesser quality for the simple reason everyone love a bargain. Some would put you on paper at 25 yards and some wouldn't even do that. The Bushnell bore sighter although at a bargain price is a quality piece. Arbors fit securely in rifle bore without any movement. This bore sighter has put me on paper within 4 inches of centre at 100 yards on 3 of 4 rifles. The other was 2 inches low and 1/2 in left. On 4 magnum caliber This product has just about paid for itself wit the savings on ammo. Will be purchasing the 50 cal arbor for my black powder rifles and woul love to find the .17 cal as well. If you have lost all faith in bore sighters give this one a try. It will not disappoint.

OK.
