This cable lock seem to be well made. I haven't used it very long but the protective sheath around the cable has prevented any scratching of the rail, rack, or trigger. The key lock will not prevent a determined adult from removing it with right tool BUT it certainly would keep children safe, and that makes it perfect for me. I like that they thought to supply multiple keys as well.

There's nothing particularly special or exciting about this gun lock, it's a gun lock and works as expected.I have no real evidence to support this as I only ordered one set, but the keying on the key looks suspiciously generic. I would not be shocked at all if the keys and cylinders are not unique, but again I have nothing to base that off other than my own key. It at the very least doesn't look to be keyed the same as the one in the picture. The mechanism is riveted on, so it can't simply be unscrewed, which is relieving.The casing around the mechanism is made of plastic, so I can't imagine it would be that hard to break, though I have not tested this myself.Overall, it seems like it would prevent accidents, but I would not rely on this thing to keep people from using to the gun who were motivated. I imagine some basic tools would get through it very easily, but again I have not tested that theory.For the price, it's a pretty good cable gun lock, but if I was serious about my gun safety, I would get one with full metal casing.

These locks are extremely useful for multiple reasons. I tend to use these locks as added security. Let's face it, children are extremely smart, especially in the areas of great interest. Even if you have a safe, there is a possibility that they figure out the combination and can gain access to items that they should not be messing with, without supervision. I like these locks because it does add a double layer of safety. If our children figured out our safe combination, I do have another means to prevent them from using our "toys" without guidance. This is also a great way to keep your toy safe if you live in a smaller home or apartment and do not have room for a safe. These locks also allow you to keep your toy handy and at a ready any time day or night without worrying if it is going to get into the wrong hands. I also use these on my locked case when I fly, just as an added protection. Purchasing these will definitely bring you a sense of less worry, but add confidence that it is ready to be used in a moments notice. Definitely priced reasonable and extremely easy to use.

If you are in Canada, print this listing and keep it with your PAL/RPAL and other documents. It proves you bought a lock intended for firearms should that ever be questioned.These are decent locks and they work about as well as the cheapo cable locks that come with Remington or Winchester long guns. The lock isn't going to stop a determined thief, but if it is used correctly it will absolutely prevent accidental discharge.This 3 pack costs $28. At the local big box outdoors store that surprisingly doesn't sell Cabels, a single lock costs $14.99 making these locks a great deal.Recommended!Stay safe and support PAL/RPALs!

These locks do what they are supposed to do, though feeding them through tighter spaces can be a bit of a challenge given the ribbed cable covers (see picture 2 for a comparison with another cable lock I have).The key lock is a bit finicky but they seem to loosen up after time. The locking end holds solid to the lock so these meet the legal intent of securing a firearm and will do the job of deterring the curious but would be pretty easy to cut through with a good set of bolt cutters.I like the rubber coated cover to prevent scratching and the length is decent for a variety of (indoor) uses. These five locks make for a convenient set.

Although the locks are of a quality that will pass law requirements, they are listed as keyed alike and they are not. I already have too many keys, I was hoping for one key fits all.
