I used this to hook up 16 CAT5e cables to a patch panel in my basement. I had never done this before but it was easy to use.Someone in another review complained that the little scissor part didn't cut reliably. It cuts fine as long as the end of your wire is poking straight out. If it's bent funny, it may not get cut.

This device was affordable, worked well, and arrived fast. I would not want to use it for continuous terminating like 100/300/300/900 pair, but for patch cables and occasional use it is perfect!

Given that this tool wasn't overly expensive I wasn't expecting a world class tool, however, I did expect it to last more than three punch downs. After the third punch down the through bolt that holds the punch end together and provides the pivot point for the cut off tool fell out and was lost forever. The screw in question is extremely tiny, so if it falls out, you'll never see it again. I would not recommend this tool to anyone. I regret that I lost money on the garbage that it is. I didn't have time to get another tool to finish the job, so I did my best to reassemble it with zip ties and a random eyeglass repair kit screwdriver to jamb through the hole that the screw used to occupy to get the wire cutters to work again. Spend more, and get a tool that will last. This thing was garbage.

I used to have some original KRONE tools and this one is pretty good substitution to them... Usually, standard tools have just sharp end to cut wires which doesn't fully cut always. KRONE tools have scissor type cutter, so trims wire accurately, also gap between insertion blades is smaller, so cable can't get wrapped around connector and always gets punched down. In addition you have hook to remove wires (to re-terminate) and kind of flat screw (originally for removing KRONE Tabs from mounting metal frame, but those aren't used in US)

I've used this tool to punch down a few hundred jacks so far and it's worked pretty well. The only problem I had was the two screws at the base of the tool somehow came loose and the tool came apart. I was able to figure out how it went back together and I used a little bit of threadlocker on the screws when I reassembled it.

This is a cheaply made tool that does the job if used carefully. Many people may find that it does not cut the wire cleanly but it does if you hold the strand of wire while pushing down gently and proper alignment of the tool.

Great tool, worked as promised. Made my networking project seem too easy.
