if you need speed, get this instead of using the motherboard's header. in my case 5 gb/s to 20 gb/s. BUT remember that most flash drives top out at 1000MB/s but a portable SSD with a C connection could get you the 2000MB/s.So the real life, practical answer, with the cablecc 20Gbps your read write speeds will at least double which i will take.

So I got this because I wanted that sweet C-type connectivity with my 5000 series setup. Hard to find b550 with a connector for the case c type. So bought this little doodad. It works... unless I put my system to sleep. If I put the system to sleep it looses recognition if whatever is connected to it. I have to restart my system to get it to reset drivers and recognize the device. The other thing is it needs the power connection. This is a pain for routing. I haven't replaced it yet, but this time I'm using one that gets power through the PCIE and hopefully responds after waking a system up.

The Type E Port is perpendicular to the card. It makes it very difficult (in my situation, impossible) to plug the front panel USB-C cable into the card. I bought an additional 90 degree adapter to dry remedying the issue, and there wasn't space for that either due to another PCIE card being underneath this one. I have no way to get this to work, even if it works great for others.

Funktioniert auf meinem Windows 11 PC einwandfrei. Habe die Karte ohne extra Strom anzuschließen eingebaut. Es wurde automatisch ein aktueller Treiber vom 16.04.2024 installiert. Erziele gute Übertragungswerte, etwas besser als über den z790 Chipsatz meines Mainboards.

Gekauft um Daten von meinem iPhone zu übertragen und es zu laden. Der Durchsatz war nicht mein primäres Anliegen, sondern eher die Leistung beim laden. Hier hab ich ganz bewusst PCIe 4x gekauft und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Mein PC zieht beim Laden 16 Watt mehr aus der Steckdose und das Handy ist sehr schnell gelassen. Ohne Last verbraucht die Karte selbst so wenig, dass es nicht messbar ist. Kaufempfehlung
