The Camtree camshade is a Lightweight Camera Matte box for run-n-gun shooting and is always up to the task. It’s a 15mm Rod-mount Matte box for Lenses with up-to 105mm outer diameter. The Sunshade made of durable polymer protects your lens from unwanted dust, dings, or unexpected falls.

CONTROL THE LIGHT
The Camtree Camshade Matte box clamps safely and securely to the front of the lens, creating a light-tight seal. The Fabric Donut or Fabric Knicker prevents unwanted light from hitting the lens and producing unwanted flares. The Aluminum top flag and side barn doors give extended control over light. The top flag folds down flat to cover the front of the Matte box/hood & protect your lens from any debris, dirt or dust on set.

The Camtree Camshade Matte box has a 4x4 non-rotating filter holder perfect for square and polarized filters. Smartly designed filter holder allows you to install or remove filters without disturbing the whole setup.
WIDE COMPATIBILITY
The Matte box accommodates camera lenses up to 105mm in diameter. 4:3 Aspect Ratio Mask allow this matte box to be used with standard lenses.
EASY ROD MOUNT
The 15mm Rod Adapter allows quick and easy mounting on 15mm rod support camera rigs. The aluminum adapter features height adjustment up to 2.5cm increasing compatibility of Matte box to adapt different camera lenses. It attaches to the bottom of the matte box to make it usable for multi-purposes within different setups. The Riser Adapter can be separated from Matte box, if required.

This is a decent matte box with surprisingly great features. The reason for my low rating though is the 4x4 filter is EXTREMELY difficult to pull out. I had to get a good grip on the box just to grab the filter properly and pull it out just 1/4 of the way. After that my hand slipped and I nicked the top of my index finger, which ended up leaving a bit of a cut. I stopped trying after that and packed it right back up. I can't imagine what it'd be like to actually get the filter out and insert it back in. As a film maker, you will definitely face a major challenge with this matte box.It's fine for an extreme amateur, but if you're past that and beginning then don't bother. Spend a bit more to get the right one that works well like I'm about to do ;)

The eyebrow wouldn't tighten and slips. Plastic filter holder is hard to remove, could scratch glass filter.

Made of weak plastic, filter holder needs to be forced out and in. Will be returning it, and feels as if it would break within a week.

If you have worked on a movie or tv series you know that a lot of the equipment is modified by crew members . Is this matte box perfect? No, but no product is. If you think you can just buy parts online and have it meet all of your needs you are in dreamland. All the stuff I own I modify mainly because I don't feel like paying the "camera tax". Just because its expensive doesn't mean its any good. I have already modded this matte box, made donuts and changed the side flags with lighter materials. Spend more money on people not equipment and you will always get a better result.

Stress marks on the rail clamp after hand-tightening a few times. Be careful when choosing as the donut covers follow focus on most DSLR lenses. Also the material tore very easily and easily pulled off the rear of the matte box. The barn doors are flimsy; the top only rests in the sides which move in the wind when tightened. Tighteners also cheap and weak. Decent for interiors but only for amateurs at best.
