It is free for the mini ball head to make 360° swivel & 90° at your request, then you can lock it in place with the central red knob.

I use these on my mic stands for micing speaker cabs when recording guitars in my home studio. Aluminum and steel, with a fairly heavy build and smooth operation. Makes it super easy to adjust mic placement with a simple twist and tighten. Perfect for what I'm using them for.

EXTREMELY PLEASED. Product quality was much better than I expected. Every part on it is metal, except for the round locking ring, which you would want to be plastic. The RED locking handle is RED anodized metal. Price is great. I will buy another pair of these.

Theses things work great. Tighten up without any movement. I've used them to mount some pretty heavy night vision monocular and binoculars. They stay where you want them. Work great to be so small.
