Finding the stud to firmly set the crusher in place is the first obstacle. The crusher works very well on cans, but not on plastic water bottles. It certainly crushes them, but they flex back into shape almost immediately. I compensated by purchasing a large tin snip scissor and cut the plastic while they are still somewhat crushed. Problem solved...........
