How to calculate the required amount of dye? The dosage depends on the fat content, hardness, and purity of the wax you're using. To dye the entire base of paraffin weighing 1 lb, only 0.02-0.04 oz of dye is sufficient. For wax weighing the same, you will need a bit more: 0.03-0.05 oz.

Candle coloring can be done in two ways: 1. Entire dyeing. The dye is added to the melted base's paraffin mixture, mixed until full solidification, and then poured into a mold. 2. Partial dyeing. Dipping of the finished product in the solution after the candles have completely cooled and solidified.

SEE BIG BEHIND THE small
Our dye is extremely concentrated, even a small amount of dye will provide a bright and homogeneous coloring of a large amount of wax or paraffin. In order to dye 1 lb of wax you will need only 0.02-0.05 oz of dye! If you're buying our 16-color set, it will be enough to color 53 lb or 24 kg of wax!
EXPERIMENT WITH TEXTURES AND SHADES
If you like working with soy wax, you will of course know that its initial milk-white color will change the dye color to its more pastel version. Paraffin wax, makes your candles more saturated. You can also try this dye with palm wax. Enjoy lovely the frosty patterns this type of wax produces.

Don't let the size fool you, these are potent wax dyes. I've used liquid dyes and they don't go nearly as far as these do. I only make 8 to 12 candles at a time. I've done three batches and could do at least three more with the basic color that are desired with other colors left over.

I have used the color dye for my candle business for a couple of special orders and so far the colors are much brighter than I expected and a little goes a long way. They don't interfere with the normal candle burning process, and don't have a smell either. I have yet to use all of the colors, but the orange will absolutely come out orange and get brighter as you add more chips, and the white is pretty strong as well. They arrived in great shape, but I also bought them after the summer since things get hot where I'm from. I'll update my review as I use more of the colors. Please note that I also use a mix of soy and coconut wax which may create a different retention of colors.

Colors melt easily, even with bigger flakes. Each bag is going to last quite awhile for my desired color strength and number of candles. I craft about 50 8oz candles each year. Most afforable way to get a variety of colors than many other brands. Will order again!

These dyes work so well. They are really pretty to watch when they melt and it takes so much less of these to dye the candle wax than it does for the liquid dye I bought to compare. No smell as far as I can tell.

I liked that they are so bright and deep in color. You really don’t need a lot to get what you want, and even a few pebbles give you a nice pastel soft color. My only issue with these is the colors are misleading. I only tried Orange and Red and and the orange one i tried a light amount of dye and it gave me a nice pastel color but it was pink even tho the pebbles themselves were orange. With the red i tried a lot more dye and it was very dark and exactly what i wanted but it was also a purple/pink hue. I’m not completely turned off about it, but the fact that i’m not getting the exact color advertised or at least somewhat close is upsetting. I’ll probably end up trying another brand to see results for my next batch.

The colour was not as vibrant as I had hoped. I was very disappointed because the flakes did not dissolve completely and left flakes speckled in the wax. I tried to dissolve them by melting wax at hotter temperature and stirring faster but this resulted in the wax crystallising when cooling. Such a shame over £40 wasted because of this poor quality product.Instructions would have been useful.
