I ordered 2 of these and they function as they are supposed to. So far, I've only used them once at temperatures not exceeding 200 degrees F, but so far, so good :-)

This thermometer is designed poorly, hard to see without having to rotate the pot until you can get a visual, hot to the touch and broke right off the pot. Replaced with one from Michaels and wow major difference plus this one is not hot to the touch so u can remove it from the pot before pouring the candy

I have one of these also, the thermometer is not sealed and the temp reading are on a piece of paper glued to the thermometer, moisture on the inside does a damn good job of screwing up the cardboard inside, evidently they figured it would never get washed I guess.I can't seem to get a decent batch of hard candy using this either, it either over cooks or under cooks every time......... I feel it's way over priced for the quality.

I tried making candy with this thermometer twice, and both times the candy was a flop. After the second time, I began to suspect the problem was the thermometer (I have a lot of experience making candy) so I tested it, and sure enough, it was WAY off. Furthermore, the yellow cap on the end is not sealed on, thus moisture can easily make its way in.If you like your thermometer to be accurate and durable, purchase a different one.

Sirve a la perfección, las lecturas que ofrece son dinámicas y precisas. Al usarlo para hacer caramelo dan resultados excelentes, lo único que podrÃa desear es que a pesar de su aspecto resistente, al tenerlo en la mano puede no ser tan ergonómico, pues es algo resbaladizo, y tampoco su clip para acomodarse a las ollas es poco eficiente, es decir es funcional y eficiente pero no es tan cómodo como uno pudiera esperar teniendo en cuenta las altas temperaturas en las que uno lo requiere.
