I seldom write a review however this one was easy to do. I normally reuse the o rings when changing out a filter in the big blue housing every 6 months. Last time I noticed the o ring was starting to get stretched out and didn’t fit perfectly I went ahead and installed it nonetheless hopefully it wouldn’t leak and it didn’t. Recently when it came time to change the filter again I ordered these new o rings hoping for a good fit. I was pleasantly surprised these o rings fit perfectly in the housing and made the reinstall very easy and confident it wouldn’t leak. I was too cheap to buy new o rings previously however they cost was worth it with an easier replacement and removed the concern of a leak.

A family member uses well water, and we use a Cascadian branded large filter system to remove the fine silt and minerals. They fit PERFECTLY in the filter cover (or housing) and have NEVER had a leak using these.

There are a few reviews claiming the O-ring is too large for "big blue" type filter housings. Not so. Just like with the OEM rings, it takes a little work to get the ring fit into the channel in the housing. Install it right and it works.First, make sure the channel is clean. If the old O-ring isn't in it, and it didn't fall out on the floor when you removed the bottom of the big blue housing, it's still stuck in the top. Fish it out before you try to put the housing back together. Next, grease the new O-ring with petroleum jelly. No, not whatever exotic vegan sex lube the kids are using these days - plain old Vaseline. Push it into the channel in the housing. There will be a little "slack" to be pushed in. Work around the housing from 12 o-clock to 6 on both sides. The grease helps. No, that does not mean the O-ring doesn't fit properly. Once you have it seated, install new filter and screw back on. Don't forget to use the air purge when you slowly refill the housing.

This o ring worked well for replacing our old o ring on the big blue whole home water cylinder. Good fit. No leaking.

Just changed all my water filters the other day. The ones I have are originally Home Depots Glacier Bay 4.5x10 inch filter system. The old rings were stretched and not up to the job any more. These fit perfectly. Will also fit the new EcoPure filter system that has replaced the Glacier Bay house brand in Canada.

Purchased this item along with food grade silicone grease. Applied grease to o-ring and placed o-ring into Pentair 20" water filter housing. Hand tightened the housing, then did an additional 1/8 turn with plastic housing wrench. No leaks, product worked well.
