Wrap. Mark. Cut. Wrap again. Tape.Super simple process. You will need to provide your own tape.I simply wrapped it around the battery. Makes where the overlap was. Cut the excess. Wrapped it again with the correct size. Taped it down and reinstalled the battery.

We had to replace a battery that 2 weeks of temps in the low 30s and occasional dips into single digits managed to ruin. We don't have garage room for that vehicle so need another way to try and preserve the new battery. It was easy to shape around the battery. We laid it all out on the garage floor and carefully cut and taped to box it around the battery. After placing it into the box and realizing the new battery is a bit smaller, we cut and tucked in the rest of the insulation to help take up the space, being very careful to not touch the metallic parts to the battery posts. Of course since we've done this, we've had much warmer temperatures, so have not been able to fully test out the insulation capabilities. I am certain however, that it will work well.

With the price of automotive batteries today, this is an inexpensive way to protect your investment. Just had to get a new battery for my truck, replacing the original OEM H6 AGM battery after 8 years. The original battery came with an insulation jacket, which I attribute to helping the battery last as long as it did. Unfortunately, this OEM battery jacket was starting to show its age, plus it didn't fit the larger H7 AGM battery that I upgraded to. This is a great add-on to any battery, and there is plenty of material, at least for a H7, and it is actually a bit taller than a H7. I was able to easily cut it / trim it to accommodate the battery cable connections to the battery terminals. Seems durable and didn't tear when re-installing the battery and getting caught on something. This jacket has the aluminum foil on the outside that will hopefully better reflect the heat radiated from the engine, compared to the black- fabric-only OEM jacket. The only improvement I would recommend to the manufacture would be to include some aluminum HVAC tape to secure the jacket to the battery. I used grey/silver duct tape with the seam on the side opposite to the engine. Time will tell how this holds up to the extreme temperatures of an engine bay.

I have a AGM that is suppose to handle the cold, like in the teens, but it powers down and loses power for reason. I live up north where you do not use lithium in the cold. Only lead or AGM. Anyhow, I got this mat to put around the battey. After 4 days I did notice a change in the temp of about 5 degrees less with it sitting in the cold and not moved. Temps are about 15-20 degrees. So it does work to save the battery from getting colder. Not sure yet what happens when it heats up but I feel it will be that much better.

This Aggsound Car Battery Insulation Kit 40"*7"-Heat Shield Blanket is OK. It just consists of a 40" X 7" strip with silvering on one side and 2mm felt on the other. There are other kits that include some felt for the bottom of the battery and even some tape, but this kit does not. So, it seems the right materials, but not the best of the bunch.

It gets really cold here, -20F or below sometimes. My car has had trouble starting from time to time, so I was going to get a battery heater as well as an oil pan heater, but instead I thought I would try this. I would probably suggest both, but so far this has made it a little more peppy to start in the cold. I don't know how much it will do if I leave the car for a few days between, but it seems to help.

I set up a larger lithium battery setup in my offroad trailer. We routinely go where temperatures vary widely. Great value for the price and should help keep my battery temperature controlled to get better charge and discharge capacity.
