this product took straight flame from a propane torch and nothing happened, I'm using it as insulation from a heating duct and nylon tent material. The duct gets to 270deg and one layer of the blanket keeps it insulated to ambient temp. Great product. Only thing that I don't like is it is grabby with dirt/dust.

I am no welder but I cut a piece easily with some sheers and put a propane torch to it just to test and it didn't burn and seconds later was cool to the touch. It seems well made but I am no expert. It also did not leave coloring on my hands and it does not pull apart easily

These blankets are the perfect size and thickness for protecting surrounding objects from the heat of high temp brazing. I highly recommend them.

Have used carbon torch guards before and they work well. These seem to block the heat ok, but they smoked a lot and caught on fire like they had been sprayed with oil. I mean a LOT of smoke. After the first 5 minutes, they worked better. They do seem to be heavier than some others I have used, so I think they make hold up longer.

It is felt so you have to cut and handle it carefully or it will tear. Have make ever-lasting lamp wicks out of it and they work great. Would recommend this product.
