I bought this for my home to check for both carbon monoxide and natural gas.From right off the bat, I really appreciated the instructions that were included. I also really like how there is a display window that shows the levels of carbon monoxide detected. This provides so much peace of mind.Also, the alarm is very audible, but not overly annoying!I am likely going to purchase more for my other rooms.

Update Change my review, seller stands behind their product, unexpectedly they gave me a full refund, for that reason I change the review from a one-star to a four-star.This was old review below:When they do go off they're not very loud, I had one right outside the bathroom door against wall, and just some moisture coming through the bathroom door was enough to set it off. Had to replace batteries after 3 months. Do not buy.

This is very easy to use and while I'm always a little hesitant about moving gas appliances, this gives me additional comfort.

I gave it a 1 star because I expected it to work off battery when there is no power. As long as batteries were good. It says only for 4 hours. Never did figure out what the 2 AA batteries were for..( only had connecting on one end...totally different than any battery connection I've seen before .one end on metal other on the plastic case)

This is generally a good detector. However... If the power is interrupted the battery will go dead in a few hours and you will get an annoying notice to change the battery. If the power is still out you will need to remove the battery. The unit is large enough to block both sockets on a wall outlet. To use the other socket, it is necessary to unplug the unit bringing us back to the first criticism.

I've always kept one of these by the garage to gauge the carbon monoxide, but its awesome to also have a natural gas detector since my water heater, dryer and furnace all use natural gas. An added piece of mind at what I would have spent on the CO detector alone, and I love the digital display to show existing levels.
