Tips for using it better:
- Eliminate peculiar smell: This mat occasionally has a little smell when it’s just been opened. It is a normal phenomenon because it’s made of EVA material.You could use a hairdryer or put it in a ventilated place for up to two days, the smell will disappear.
- Deal with the folds: Put some weights on it for a while, it will recover to previous shape soon.Or use a hairdryer, heat the folds till it reach a certain temperature. Fold it in the opposite direction.

My automatic litter box, which I love, has two edges that ‘leak’ the litter as my cats scratch to cover. This fabulous mat lets the litter fall thru the top tier into the mat, which can then be easily vacuumed or tipped back into the box. They also enjoy scratching it, it hasn’t shown any tears from their scratching. Great buy!

Does what it claims to do, collects all that extra litter that ends up on the cat's paws after they get out of the litter box. Since it arrives folded or in a roll, it won't sit flat on the floor without some finagling. The only way I found is to use a hair dryer on the hottest setting, right up against the mat in all the wavy sections. After that area gets good and hot, step on it or stretch it or put something heavy on it. In 10 minutes I was able to get mine almost completely flat by doing this. I've attached a picture of before and after. The other issue is that the inside of the mat where the litter falls is lined with some type of fabric that has a bit of a suede feel to it, which means it's going to be very difficult to remove liquid stains and odors. And the final issue with these types of mats in general is if your cat does a #2 or pukes on it, it's really difficult to get out of those tiny holes, even if you hit it with a garden hose.

The mat does a good job of catching litter, when it stays in place. The underside is slippery, and doesn't grip at all (be careful if you step on it to clean the litterbox!) My cats track a ton of litter, so I had gotten a few of these in different brands and sizes to scatter around the room their litterbox is in to keep the tracking confined to one room. Well, these are lightweight and slippery enough that the cats rearrange them daily! They are keeping the litter contained, but I never know where I'll find them. A grippier back would make these perfect.

You have to allow this to lay flat and I had to put heavy items on it to flatten it out. It’s very thick so it doesn’t sit well in front of the litter box, it slides away from the box.
