So far I think this snake is the best cat toy we've ever bought. In my opinion, it acts almost like a real live snake would act. At first he seemed it he was avoiding going under furniture, like he had a sensor or something, but alas! Yeah. He does go under anything that gives him room. But he doesn't run into your feet. He back up and squirms away as if trying to get away from you. He does also run into things and if there's a crack just big enough to get stuck he will. But what moving toy doesn't doing that?He has wheels on each section on his body.If he's not touched he stops so the battery doesn't run down, but comes right back on if you get near. After all that, I have to say, one of my cats knows it's fake. He ignores it. Our other one is scared of it. Tried to slap it and runs.I'm thinking a 7 y/o little boy would love this toy. He seems durable if he's not thrown around. In my opinion, he's worth the fair price.

Jasper liked this however it would either stop or flip over on some sort of a floor transition. Like from tile to thin rug. The motor isn't strong enough to maintain and the wheels don't show much at all to allow for height. If Jasper swatted too hard, it would flip. It would, I imagine, be better for larger tiled areas where it can do it's thing.

This cat toy does catch my cat's attention but doesn't hold his attention for long periods. This toy's motion detection works well. It requires frequent charging. For the price it is made well enough. I've stepped on it more than once and it did come apart, but I was able to just pop the segments back together w/o too much trouble. It works best on wood or vinal floors. Does not work on carpet. It doesn't have a lot of power but my cat does like it.

This is one of the poorer quality battery toys we've purchased. It arrives in three sections that clip together in a second (good) but as a result it's not very sturdy and comes apart if shaken vigorously during rough play. It's also not as smart at overcoming obstacles or rerouting itself, nor is the motor sufficiently powerful enough to drive the toy over even the smallest of obstacles (if frequently gets stuck on phone charging cables). Overall, this isn't a fire and forget toy, you're going to spend a lot of time freeing it.Seems odd to say that a motorized cat toy costing $14 is overpriced, but this piece of junk would still be overpriced at half that. Cat lost interest in it after a couple of minutes, I lost patience with it after having to get it unstuck about ten times during those few mins, and it was back in the box and return submitted right after that. Both the cat and I would like those ten minutes of our life back please.

At first my kitten was a little startled by the snake - the wheels are a little loud - but after a few sessions playing with it, she loves the snake and will even try pulling it out of her toy bin on her own. It's really nice to have something remote and battery-operated for my kitten to safely take out her hunting instincts on. I love that she can also catch and "kill" the snake, and then release it to chase it some more, so she can essentially cycle through the whole hunting process on her own. It's very healthy for her.My one caveat is that one the wheels on the snake got stuck because there's a bunch of hair caught in it, and there isn't an easy way for me to clean it since the space is too tight for me to reach with my hands or a tool, and to access the wheel more directly would require a very small screwdriver I don't own. So I just let the snake run on one wheel and it's fine, my kitten still gets a lot of play out of it.I definitely recommend this toy for cats that have a lot of energy.

My cats chase this thing all over the house! Works great on laminate flooring. And knows not to go under things to get stuck. Backs up and turns around. Not very loud. Super cute and entertaining! Seems built really well. Takes my cats slapping it around.

Our cats were very scared and apprehensive of these toys. They have the flopping fish and absolutely love them, so we thought the snakes would be a hit. Their movement is very realistic, which I do think initially intrigued the cats. However, they are quite noisy and very unpredictable in their movement. The motion sensor feature is cool, and does work, however, the snakes tend to get trapped or stuck on rugs or behind furniture, making them hard to follow. Our cats are definitely scaredy cats, and other, more adventurous cats might enjoy these snakes more! The battery life seems decent and the motion sensors work as advertised. Just not a win for our household.
