My kittens spay appointment was a month out and she went into heat and wanted something she could rub up on. This definitely did its job. Even though she’s back to herself she loves this. She lays, rubs and bites it. It’s the perfect size for my 6.4lb kitty. It seems sturdy, I mean it’s been putting up with my rambunctious kitten so I’m not worried. I’d definitely recommend this for other kitties!

I've been getting cardboard scratching items for our youngest cat, who loves them. I noticed that he was biting and shredding the decorative paper layers off the outside of the ones he had, so took this as a clue that they were wearing out and he needed new ones. I thought this one was adorable (it is) and ordered it, along with some of the more traditional, rectangular ones. Well... since he had discovered the whole biting/shredding thing on the older ones, he immediately started in on this one too! But, it's his and he was having fun, sooo... As you can see from the pictures, it's been a progressive destruction and i THINK his mission is finally complete. The pictures, even on day one, show the bits of cardboard he shredded and flung all over the place! He is no longer sleeping on it; I think it's too small a surface now! I don't think he understands that he's the one who made it NOT comfortable anymore! The only inherent problem with this item is that the cardboard rounds are not glued together and once the decorative outside layer is off, it's simply a matter of the cat slowly unraveling it, bit by bit! If I get another one, I'm going to devise a way t,o secure that outer layer so it's not so easy to remove, because once THAT'S gone, it's only a matter of time! And I really WANT another one because he loved it so much and looked very comfortable sleeping on it, until it was DONE! The pictures, even on day one, show the bits of cardboard he shredded and flung all over the place! Two of the questions here are sturdiness and durability. As long as that outer rim stays on, it's both; once that outer ring comes off, it's still sturdy, but durable? Nope! LOLUpdate. I DID get another one and he immediately went for the colored edging, but….he wasn’t prepared for the reinforcement I had applied. Using a hot glue gun, the first thing I did was glue the colored edging down around the top and bottom; then…from the underneath side of the cardboard, I ran beads of hot glue here and there, between the cardboard layers and “smushed “ it in with a wadded up plastic bag; you don’t want to do it with bare fingers for the obvious reason. In hindsight , a small spatula would probably work a lot better, but it helps with deterring a cat who remembers the first one thinks he’s going to unravel the whole thing. It’s been a couple of years now and it's still completely usable; many cats and foster kittens have enjoyed and abused it. Is it still pretty? Nope! But it’s still intact and regularly slept on and still used for scratching. The last 3 pictures are of the one that’s still being used, by my different cats, minus part of a couple of chewed up support legs. LOL

The rubber tips that stick at the end of the wire brush easily come off and get stuck in the place where it meets the scratcher itself, which means the wire brush gets dislodged in the sharp metal end is hanging out. I tried to push it back in but I couldn't get it to line up perfectly with the tip and stay in. So I've just been pushing it back in every few days and hoping my cats don't scratch themselves on the sharp metal.I expected the brush part to be a little bit more firm but I'm happy it is not too hard so I won't hurt my cats faces.I have one cat who is constantly rubbing on things head to tail and she cannot get enough of this thing. Also seems to be useful in catching loose fur while she's shedding.Overall, I'm mostly happy with the product but a little disappointed at how quickly the ends of the brush fall out of the holders and how hard it is to get it to stay back in. I might have to try hot gluing it and hoping for the best. I would also hope that there would be holes on both sides that you can flip the scratcher when it gets worn out but unfortunately there are not. I do like how there are four holes total so you're able to move the brush around to fit the needs of your kitties.

My cats loved this thing to ruins. Any time they saw it or were placed on top they instantly went into scratch mode. It did fall apart after a while, chunks were ripped out, bowl’s legs broke off, and eventually the whole thing unraveled on the floor. I would recommend, easy source of stimulation for the kitties.

My kitties love this so much that I bought one for a friends kitties. She tells me hers lasted for about three days and they had the thing torn into pieces. Mine is still going strong. They love it. I would recommend it. It’s a great toy :-). It’s got fake grass on the top side and lots of little openings where they try and stick their paws in and get the rolling toys.

3 stars because my 2 cats destroyed it within 2 days. It is very messy aswell. If I could return it I wouldn't but I also wouldn't buy it again.

My cats are all large, so I worried that this wouldn't be big or sturdy enough for them. No problem! They curl up in it neatly and it does not tip over during vigorous scratching sessions.

I've purchased these a few times as my cat basically lives in this thing. She is a compulsive scratcher and these withstand that for about 6 months which I am thrilled with. I prefer the one with the ball around the edge since it's more sturdier and lasts longer than the one that's raised.

Our cat likes to lounge in this hammock, she is less keen on using it as a scratcher but can be convinced with some catnip and it remains her preferred one anyway. For larger cats like ours it could be slightly bigger but overall it's great. In addition you can use it as a lap rest if your cat isn't a natural lapcat!

Quant à l'herbe a chat joint, no comment, idée geniale.

My cats liked hiding in this but within a few day if started collapsing and I ended up laying it horizontal because it couldn’t maintain the tent shape. Given it can’t be used for its intended purpose, I wouldn’t but it again.

My kitten played with it for some days then she stopped chewing it. Later we took out its plastic ball from middle and bingo its a great game for her.
