I used to use the old clip on the dash method but this is light years ahead of that. Don't have to reach down and fumble for it, and no struggle to get it back where it goes. Simply grab it and when you're done with it just let it retract. Probably much safer while driving too. Definitely a fan!

I'm not certain this was designed for a speaker-mic. There's no specific manner to attach the speaker-mic, but it's easy to rig. This build is strong and very capable of working for the stated purpose, including a strong spring, heavy plastic components, and a metalcore cable. I see no reason this won't last for many years if not abused. Excellent for the price!

This really lives up the the "heavy duty" moniker. Cable is coated steel cable, reel housing is good heavy plastic, accessories are good quality and offer a lot of connection options. Recoil spring is strong- this will hold a good load without sagging down. Good retractable leash.

This CB/EMS radio Microphone holder works well. It's very heavy duty with all metal connectors and a rugged plastic housing. The retracting cord is plastic coated wire. This holder is easy to set up and use. The only one thing that i found that lowered the rating was the retracting cord is kind of hard to pull out. It's a very strong retracting cord.
