I had ordered this item in the past in the brown color and was so pleased with it, I decided to order the pearl pink version. I am equally pleased with it. A light slightly pearlescent pink made from PU leather; it is very soft and pliable, so is wonderful for use in crafting and sewing projects. I have used the brown color in my rope basket projects to provide a bit of embellishment for handles, tabs, as finishing touches, etc. The pink version will be equally useful. It feels very similar to real leather, but is actually more pliable than some leathers. It is durable and holds up well- cannot be torn, but is easy to cut to size and shape using ordinary scissors. Can be glued or sewn. The strips are 1 inch wide and each roll comes in 200 ft lengths. It is as pretty on the reverse side as the front. So it is suitable also for bag handles in which the reverse can be seen, or could be glued or sewn back-sides together to provide a more polished look. This is one of the best sewing and crafting supplies I have found because it is so versatile and expensive-looking. This item comes in many different color choices. Having ordered two of the different colors now, with the same quality, I will be ordering more to provide more variety in my projects. I have included a couple of photos of the latest rope basket I made for a friend to give at a baby shower using the brown color; bear in mind, however, that this is for illustrative purposes to show a project idea and the usefulness but the color I am reviewing is the pearl pink shade, not the brown shown in my completed project photos.

Looks like the “leather†you see on mass produced handbags. It is not actually one piece, but two pieces glued together. Depending on how you plan to use it that maybe a good thing or a bad thing. It does not split down those two pieces easily; I tried to split them and double the length I had but that did not work at all. You can see where I tried in the corner that the scissors are pointing at, it stretched instead of separating when I tried to pull it apart. It did not stretch lengthwise though, so it would be suitable for handles in that it didn’t split and wouldn’t become misshapen with some weight on it. It does seem to have a different pattern on each side so make sure you’re paying attention to that and don’t accidentally have half your project in one grain and the other half in a different grain pattern. The color is consistent throughout the roll, there wasn't any spotting or mottling in the finish. I could use these as straps or trim on bags, hats, accessories, etc. but I purchased specifically to trim out a piece of furniture. I think it will give the wooden locker/chest a cool medieval look with studs hammered into the straps. It cuts super easy and clean with good scissors, sharp edge and doesn’t fray. Also ran it through a basic sewing machine with a #9 universal needle. Anytime you’re working with trim like this you are going to want to use a long stitch length. It went through nicely on its own. Might need a walking foot if you plan on trimming something in a different fabric weight. Could easily sew with an awl or leather needle. If you understand that this is not true leather but a plastic or “vegan†type of “leather†you should be happy with it. The strap feels firm and is exactly 1†across. There is more than enough for my purposes. I would not try and make a belt out of this; I don’t think it is thick or big enough for that.

I knew it wasn't genuine leather which is fine for the project I have for it! it cuts and stamps easily. easy to sew through both with a machine and by hand. easy to punch with a leather punch. can cut into smaller strips, but if doing so, secure each end well so it is easier to get clean straight cuts. it does have a very small amount of "give" or "stretch" to it. the edges on the strapping that comes how it is, is soft and not sharp. needs minor buffing if you do cut it just to remove that edge you make with the cut. no irritation to the skin or anything either!

This "leather" is made of Polyurethane and looks a lot like real leather. It is actually 2 strips glued together to make it doubles sided leather. It is strong enough for straps for lighter bags. It would be good for costumes and crafts. It would not be good for leather work crafts since is will not react like real leather. But you'll find many uses for this and it is much cheaper than real leather.

I was able to add some bootstraps to my boots. The leather seems strong and well made. It is easy to work for my special little projects around the house.

Nicely made. Pretty grain of leather. The color is very versatile. The thickness is great for using as straps on a purse. Nice value too.

Looks nice but feels like what it is… faux leather. Like flexible plastic. Curious to get feedback from my customers.
