Works nicely, eases viewing of the moon.Only drawback is that it is placed inside the telescope so changing the polarization requires disassembly of the eyepiece. In addition - if the telescope remains assembled - you may forget the filter inside --> might take time to understand why deep sky objects are not visible - but this was my fault, not the filter...

Bought this for my son he loves it. Highly recommend this, as it is a very good brand and it is a very good product from that brand.

This set comes with #12, #21 and #80A color filters for planetary observation along with a 50% transmission neutral density filter. Despite what some others have said, it is rather easy to tell them apart under monochromatic red light. The #80A blue's gel looks quite dark, even darker than the neutral-density filter, and they all have white-on-black lettering around the outer rim to identify them. The sky wasn't cooperating very well tonight as clouds kept scooting over my observations of Saturn and Mars, but the filters all do what they say they're doing according to the sheet Celestron helpfully includes in the box, which really helps a noob astronomer like me figure out what filter to use to look at which planet. All four filters are clear and seem to be free of defects, and don't affect the view seen other than how they are supposed to (that is, filtering out certain bands of light). The 50% transmission neutral-density seems like it would be a little too much light let through for lunar observation, though with my small 60mm aperture I don't see this as being a big issue. I haven't had much of a problem with glare while looking at the moon in the past. I will probably be submitting an update in a about a week or so when I can do some lunar observation, though. All in all, I'm satisfied with this purchase and I think it's a good value.

This filter removes glare while observing the moon in all phases. Detail really jumps out using this filter. Reasonably priced too.

I bought this as an accessory to my new telescope after watching a youtube video on why you might need a moon filter. Waxing Gib moon @ 98% brightness tonight, so I took it out and gave it a whirl. It works as advertised! It cut down the glare from the moon allowing better definition of the craters. The image was crystal clear, just tainted a slight bit green. The filter simply threads on the forward part of the 1.25" eyepiece and then you slip the eyepiece in the telescope. I tried viewing the moon with and without the filter, and I definitely prefer using the filter. I highly recommend it and the price certainly won't break the bank.

I like how how you can quickly adjust the filter strength. It does unscrew in to 2 halves, so you can 1/2 on a barlow and the half on the eye piece. The quality is good, smooth adjustment it doesn't feel gritty. The threads are well machined and we'll built.

First of all, the the picture on Amazon is incorrect. I hope they fix this soon. This filter set actually includes these 4 filters: Orange #21, Light Blue #80A, Deep Yellow #15 and ND-25 Neutral Density . You can verify this from the Celestron web site itself (look for part 94119-10). Overall, these are very good filters, but after using them a few times, I'm not sure that they improve my viewing much, so I stopped using them. The only one I still use occasionally is the 25% neutral filter which helps when viewing a full moon. There's nothing wrong with this set in particular, but I wouldn't recommend filters in general for most users. Most of us don't really need them, except for the neutral (gray) filter.

Totalmente recomendable.
