Celestrons signature orange-tube telescope combines advanced features and excellent optics in one easy-to-use system, the NeXStar 5SE. Its the perfect choice for your first serious telescope, offering striking views at an economical price. In the 1970s, Celestrons Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes brought the hobby of astronomy to the masses and established Celestron as the worlds premier telescope maker. Our founder, Tom Johnson, invented Celestrons proprietary method of producing Schmidt corrector plates for superior views and maximum portability. Johnson believed in creating high-quality optical instruments at an affordable price, and inspired a generation of amateur astronomers. Four decades later, we've improved upon this design by adding cutting-edge features, while staying true to our founders intent. View the Universes Most Impressive Celestial Objects The 5SEs five-inch primary mirror packs enough light-gathering ability to observe the best that the solar system has to offer: Saturn's rings, the cloud bands on Jupiter, and geographic features on the surface of the Moon. When it comes to deep sky objects, take your 5SE to a dark-sky site and you'll see hundreds of pinpoint stars in the Hercules Globular Cluster, the spiral arms of the Whirlpool Galaxy, and more. Revolutionary Single Fork Arm Mount We know the best telescope is the one you will use most often. That's why Celestrons engineers created NexStar SE'

Well the Telescope came on time undamaged. I didn't shop around to try and find a lower price I figured I'd pay off amazon to help support my local Astronomy club so for the $799 for the Telescope and case I feel pleased with it.Telescope offers great views one thing I would recommend is getting yourself a GPS and a 6.3 focal reducer if you plan to wanna do short exposures. You might be able to get up to 15 second exposures I haven't tried this telescope out with a DSLR yet but just something to keep in mind.Jupiter looks amazing using a 10mm eyepiece it's about the size of a BB Gun ball in a 10mm eyepiece you can see the Moons and the bands on Jupiter.Deep Space Objects are not real bright in this telescope I was using a Celestron 40mm Plossl and objects like M35, M47, M46, M3 for example were kinda dim but visible. This telescope is so far my favorite I love how it breaks down you can carry this telescope in a case and the other hand the tripod break down takes less then 10 minutes setup takes maybe 15 minutes.Auto Star Alignment is a bit tricky I noticed I went from a star like Sirius to Capella and Capella was off by about 3-4 feet. Also I wanna mention I don't like the realignment it's a bit hard to get used I started out with an Orion Starseeker IV GoTo mount this Controller is a bit strange to realign with a star It was asking me what star I wanted to replace for some reason when I picked to replace Capella it wanted me to center Jupiter? so maybe one day I'll figure that out but for now I'm confused.
