This kettle looks great in the kitchen and works as expected. Despite what many reviewers say here, the whistle on this kettle is loud. I could hear it two rooms away. So they are either deaf or reviewing a different kettle. One thing I liked about this kettle is that it came with care instructions, which upon reading them, I quickly figured out why I kept having to replace tea kettles. Don’t leave water in them, folks. It rusts out the bottom. Duh. 🙄Anyway, it is attractive and functional and worth the price. Recommend.

I bought the yellow- it’s the perfect pop of color. Nice size, not too heavy and the whistle lets you know when the water is boiling.

Trying to find a quality tea kettle, at a good price that's also aesthetically pleasing, is like the Jacksonville Jaguars going to the super bowl... Seems impossible. However, after searching articles on the web, reading countless reviews, I think I finally found "the one". I wanted an enamel coated over steel because paint wears off too quickly. So right there is the first thing I love about this kettle. The handle is comfortable to grip and I love that it's only a half handle. Makes taking the lid on and off so much easier. Some reviews say the handle gets hot, and it warns you to use a pot holder when handling. I haven't had to. I only use a pot holder when opening the spout to pour. It heats quickly and the whistle isn't too loud in my opinion. Just loud enough. I've only had this tea kettle a little while so I can't speak to longevity yet, but I will update review later for this. I don't forsee any issues with rust at this point. I think a lot of people have issues with rust because they leave water in the kettle, which you should never do. At the end of the day I rinse my kettle out and let it air dry with the lid off. Then once a week I'll wash it to get rid of any water deposits that may be inside. The color is beautiful. I went with a Caribbean Blue, which matches my kitchen. I also have a electric stove but will be switching to gas soon so I'll also update once I do that as well. Just remember for people who do have gas stoves, you will get some residue on the bottom. That's typical. Just keep wiping it clean and it should last you a long time. With purchase of this kettle, there is hope! Which means maybe there's hope for the Jaguars too ;)

I love, love, love this tea kettle! It's so pretty in the kitchen. Great quality. I do not agree with the other reviewers who said that the handle gets hot. I do not have that problem. You must use a mitt to open the valve when you pour the water, but you'd have to let the kettle boil for a long time before the handle would get hot. I got this to replace my Revere tea kettle, which does not have a lid. With the Chantal, you can pop open the lid for cleaning. Who knows what sediments were accumulating in my old one. I would caution to use a flame of a gas burner that is not too high -- I'm careful not to let the flame lap up onto the enamel of the sides of the kettle, keeping the flame only on the bottom. Given the sloping shape of the sides, it is easy to overestimate the appropriate size of the flame. The whistle is not so loud as my old Revere, but loud enough to hear in another room, so it's fine. I repeat, it's a beautiful object and of good quality.Update: After 3 years of daily use, the kettle is showing age by a slight rusting around the handle area and a mineral deposit (maybe rust too?) inside. While using the vinegar-boiling method to remove deposits worked in early months, it no longer fully removes the deposit. But it is pretty and has held up for three years. Am considering a replacement due to the deposit issue.

The color is great in a kitchen that is mostly black and white. I've had this kettle for several months now and it looks like it's brand new. It washes up really well, and being able to remove the lid and wash inside the kettle means I can deal with hard water deposits with regular washing instead of needing to use vinegar or other cleaners. It's really great that the inside of the kettle is enameled, and allows for this. The handle does not get hot as other people say. Well, if you let the flame burn around the base it will, but that's the fault of the size of the flame or the burner, and not the fault of the kettle. If the flame is centered under the kettle the handle does not get hot.At first I thought I would need a pot holder to open the spout after boiling but I don't. It flips open nicely so a quick firm push on the end of the spout lid flips it up easily without burning you.I appreciate the lid that opens up a large space in which to pour water. It means I can put the water into the mug and then decant that into the kettle, giving me the exact amount of water needed and preventing wasted water. In all, I can foresee this kettle lasting many years. The ability to clean it well means it will look good, too.

I was super excited to get this tea kettle. For many reasons. First because this was my first induction stove; second because the color matched the accents in my kitchen; and third because I have a set Chantal pots and pans that I am very satisfied with. That being said, this Chantal tea kettle has been a very sad disappointment. I have no idea how the bottom has become this and of course, it heats unevenly now. So, we don't use it. Seems rather odd that a tea kettle lasts less then 2 years.
