I've used metal juicers that break after a while, this one is very sturdy, and also easier to use with slightly arthritic thumbs; I don't have to use two hands to press the fruit. The lemon juicer is just as good.

This tool works great with very little effort. Highly recommend for limes and small lemons. I even use it on large lemons by cutting them into smaller chunks first.

I compared performance of "Chef'n FreshForce Lime Juicer, 12-inches" [CH] and "KitchenAid Citrus Juice Press Squeezer for Lemons and Limes with Seed Catcher and Pour Spout, Lemon, 8 inches" [KA].Maximum dimensions (L, W, H, bowl inner diameter, in centimeters):CH 24 7 6.7 6.4KA 22 9 5.4 7.3Neither juicer can be taken apart in any way.Mechanical gain:CH's gear mechanism gives it slightly more than a 2:1 mechanical gain, however the location of the center of the cup further from the main hinge reduces its mechanical gain by 0.8 relative to KA, for an overall mechanical gain of 1.6. The CH configuration also allows the presser to come down in a more parallel fashion, giving a more uniform squeeze across the lime, though I can't say I noticed any benefit from this.I applied a bit of food-grade silicone grease to CH's gears, which made it smoother to open and close, though it likely makes little difference when actually squeezing a lime.Squeezing of juice: I cut a large lime in two halves vertically, so that the two halves were identical. Fitting the half into CH required pushing in the two ends a bit, easily done. Both juicers squeezed out 13 to 14 grams, making them equal in juice extraction. CH may have squeezed out a tiny bit more.KA's press has 12 grooves, like in a reamer for a hand-juicer where the fruit half is rotated around the reamer. This actually reduces the juice extraction slightly. If you rotate the rind by 1/24th of a turn after pressing it, you can press it again to get a few more drops of juice.Handling: Both juicers require a considerable amount of force to get the two handles to meet with a half-lime in the press. KA offers the advantage that it can be placed on a counter, and you can use your full weight applied on the wide upper handle. This is beause KA has a built-in bowl to catch all the juice. CH has to be held over a cup, so you have to rely on your grip strength for the squeeze, with a narrower handle that is only 80% as wide as KA's handle. While squeezing, KA's plastic frame distorts noticeably, while CH's plastic frame remains perfectly rigid.Overall: If you prefer to place the juicer on a counter and put your weight on it, KA is your choice. CH works just as well, but requires a lot of grip strength. CH also has a more solid frame, which doesn't bend under pressure.

I bought this on the advice of a friend, and I was not disappointed! This replaced a typical coated metal squeezer with no ergonomic sensibility. This squeezer is so much nicer! It doesn't hurt my hands to use, and the mechanism makes it more powerful. It is made of plastic, which might not be as durable as metal, but it certainly seems durable enough after many uses! It's easy to set down after squeezing without tipping over. It is larger than a typical squeezer, so make room in your gadget drawer!

Used one of these at a hotel in Mexico and immediately ordered one from Amazon. I am not exaggerating to say this -- while it looks kind of like the old fashioned metal squeezers -- is SO MUCH better in function and ergonomics that it made me start looking for recipes calling for fresh lemon or lime. I'm not frequently impressed by kitchen gadgets, but this is really, really good.

I started making gimlets last summer, and started juicing a lot of limes. I used a juicing attachment on an old Hamilton Beach kitchen mixer. That requires a good bit of clean up, and I thought it would be nice to have a quick, simple and easy to clean alternative. This lime juicer seems to do the trick. You have to insert a half lime opposite to what seems intuitive - so that it ends up basically inside out when you're done. I found that there is some leaking of juice, and some sprinkle where you don't necessarily want it as you squeeze. But it does a nice job of juicing. But as the skin curls inside out, the edges seem to be a limiting factor in getting all the juice out. It folds back on itself at the rim of the skin. I tried cutting a slit in the edge, but it didn't really solve the problem. The part that makes me nervous is that I have strong hands, and the gear part that applies pressure from the handle to the cup is made of plastic. It feels sturdy. So far, it's been fine. But I am very conscious of not applying as much pressure as I probably could - simply because I'm afraid it will break. So far, it hasn't, but I don't want to push it to the limit, possibly break it, and have to toss it. So, I'm always reluctant to REALLY squeeze it.Clean-up is definitely faster than using the juicer attachment on the electric mixer. Run under the tap, a bit of detergent on a sponge, and it's clean. But I don't think the limes are juiced quite as fully using this, compared with the Hamilton Beach electric juicer attachment. There are trade-offs in everything. So, I think this item does a good job. But if I'm doing a LOT of limes, the clean-up for the return on the electric mixer still wins out.

I have the lemon and lime versions both are easy to squeeze and you get all the juice out. Best juicer I have used and not bad price. Do not wash in dishwasher

Why did not buy this item a long time ago? What difference this lime juicer makes for getting all the juice out of lemons and limes. Easy grip, strong push, and not bulky for my small hands. Love the bright color and easy to wash and store in the kitchen drawers. High quality, this will last me a long time too.

This is the first lime juicer that is worth using for the potential loss in yield over the fork stab and squeeze technique.UK supermarket limes suck, they are too hard and sour but you have to work with what you have and this juicer has the right dimensions and leverage to get the most out of them. The cast aluminium generic version and the Josepf Jospeh products don't work.

La última vez que compré uno de estos fue hace como 8 años, y apenas se me quebró. Por eso compré otro, aunque no es muy barato, pero vale cada centavo porque es súper resistente y no se mancha ni se huele. ¡Súper recomendado!
