As a semi professional baker and cake decorator, I can usually tell right away if a product is going to work in a standard home cook's kitchen. I was skeptical at first when I came across this Baking Essentials Kit, because to be honest, it seemed way too good to be true.I've been using this kit for a few weeks now and I'm so happy to say that it really is fantastic in so many ways! I've used it mostly for rolling cookies and making homemade pizza dough.The silicone mat is the perfect size for dough work. It's thick enough, and long enough for multiple types of cooking and baking prep, but it's not too big where it runs off the counter or table. It also cleans up beautifully with a soap and water sink wash. My only complaint is the etched in measurements on the mat are very hard to read. Although the sage green is beautiful, perhaps a darker etching would make it easier to read.The two-in-one scraper / cutter has both a silicone edge and wooden edge that slices, scrapes, and cuts through dough with precision leaving no trace pieces behind. I find myself using this gadget for practically everything I do now in my kitchen. It's the perfect prep piece for my needs.The rolling pin is absolutely my favorite part of this set. I've gone through many rolling pins in my life, and this is by far the best one I've used. It's smooth, lightweight, and gets the job done. Like the mat, the rolling pin has etched in measurements which is an added convenience. For me it was easier to read the etching on the rolling pin than it was the mat.Although the silicone mat does have a strap to roll up and keep securely in place, there aren't any storage options for this set in it's entirety. I really wish it had come with a storage case of some sort because there are many pieces considering the various pin handles and such. It's a lot to keep organized. Nevertheless, I still think this essentials kit is one of the better ones on the market. Overall it's proven to be functional, durable, and a terrific value.

Nice and as pictured. I like the mat for easy clean up and the different setting on the roller is nice, especially when baking with kids.

This is far more than a rolling pin aand a mat. It also comes with different sized guide wheels the roll your dough to different thicknesses with the single roller!Easy to use and clean up. The silicone mat is 2 sided and is easy to use and clean. Same with the scraper tool. Easy to handle and clean. The wheels are dishwasher safe, but you can also clean them by hand very simply. Everything is very ergonomically and easy to use.This is a great set for a very good price! You favorite Baker would love this on their next Birthday. Just sayin.

This is a cute budget oriented set that probably is really ideal for the new on their own person or for a college apartment.  It’s not super solidly sturdy, but it gets the job done. The rolling pin has a variety of different end caps you can use and I have no idea why as I didn’t see any instructions.The mat has a tie which has a pet paw print on it which I thought was odd - I don’t want to think of animals while I am baking. My favorite part is the mat which I will use quite a bit for baking. It has a handy measuring guide on it.Keep in mind, this is a basic baking essentials kit, and the for the price point, don't expect anything of significant life changing or profound. Again, if you're just getting started, this might be a good option.
