I used this during cherry season and it worked very well. It takes awhile to go through an entire bag using this pitter but I don't mind doing it while watching a show. The unlocking mechanism is a bit confusing but once you read the instructions, it is pretty simple.

I am not fond of buying every gadget for the kitchen, but I really wanted to make cherry bounce using several different liquors. The idea of hand pitting all the cherries I would need was overwhelming. I bought this nifty gadget and removed the pit from 5 lbs of cherries in about 20 minutes. I did have to learn to watch as each pit popped out, as it made a hole all the way through but just sometimes the pit got pushed to the side. Worked wrll and easily cleaned.

This is one of the best things I have bought this year. Very inexpensive, but easy to use, makes eating cherries so much easier and more enjoyable. So easy to remove the pit, all in one squeeze of my hand. I also just bought one for my daughter!
