Works best on slightly frozen cherries. I make my own fruit smoothies, so this was a lifesaver! I have arthritis and this is easy to use and easy to clean. Works best if you tilt the cherries to match the angle of the pitter. Also saves a lot of time instead of slicing the cherries around the pit. (Hope that makes sense.)

This cherry/olive pitter is great for pitting small to medium size olives. A Kalamata olive is the perfect size olive to pit with this tool, although it is not suitable for jumbo sized olives, as another reviewer has mentioned. It is a quality stainless steel tool that should last many years. It actually pits more smoothly than the olive pitter I purchased in Italy 20 years ago, and that tool was pretty good.

So much better than the paperclip I was using when my plastic pitter broke and I still had 5 lbs of cherries to finish. Pitted 9 out of 10 cherries perfectly !

I bought this in hopes that it would work for pitting the huge olives that are grown here in Northern California. This tool works really well on cherries and smaller olives like the ones I grow in the backyard. No problem. But the base isn't big enough for the pit to exit on really big olives. Also the angle of the plunger that goes through the fruit is not correct on large pieces. Additionally, the end of the plunger is flat, which allows the plunger to slide off and down the side of the pit and tear open the olive. It would be better to have it be concave or the X shape of some other tools. Ultimately, because it didn't work on the majority of my olives, I returned this. But for anyone doing cherries or small olives, it'll be great and is a fine tool that'll last a long time.

This affordable, handy little tool is awesome!! SO much cleaner than me taking a knife and going around the pit and then using my fingers to get the pit out. Bye bye stained cuticles and fingers. This makes putting cherries super fast. Now, I can have cherries whenever I want. It's not some big production. Wash, take the stem off, pop them in here and go to town. One, five, twenty...there's no difference. Washes up nicely in the sink or box says top shelf dishwasher safe.

I used this to pit small Greek olives to put on pizza. It works well ejecting the pit and leaving the olive in the bowl. Well made and should last a lifetime.

This is a solid well-made tool. I have small hands and found it awkward to make the wide reach to squeeze the handles. The hole is too small and many of the cherry pits get stuck. I have to keep tipping the whole tool upside down to knock out the pit.

I got these for my green olives and I’m so glad that I did!!! Doesn’t get ALL the meat off the olive, but way faster and easier than me trying to slice them with a knife !
