The seal is the right part and fits great. I really like the sealing bead they included between the pinion housing and metal seal surface. However, if you are working on a higher mileage vehicle check the mating surface on your pinion yoke carefully or you will still have a leak. I just did this job on a 2007 Dodge 1500 with 212K and the yoke had a wear groove in it. You can test fit the seal to the pinion yoke to verify and if it isn't a tight fit, then a new seal won't do it. If you have a worn pinion yoke then you can put a speedy-sleeve on it to repair the sealing surface. They run about $25-50, National part number 99187, you can find at all the parts houses or here on Amazon. I'd order it from Amazon just in case I needed it, because Napa for example gets $50 for the same part that is $25 here. Also, mark the pinion yoke nut and the end of the pinion and count the threads before you disassemble it so you can put the nut back with the same torque on the pinion bearing (should be ~210 ft. lbs. minimum). Hope this helps!https://www.amazon.com/National-Oil-Seals-99187-Redi-Sleeve/dp/B000C5H39Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540132228&sr=8-1&keywords=national+99187
