Quality very good. Very smooth. Exactly 36" long. I put my micrometer on it and got a diameter of between .991 and .996 in 6 spots (for about one inch of length at one end the diameter was .987).

The 1 inch walnut dowel fit perfectly in the decorative lazy Susan I made for 11 daughters and daughter-in-laws. It contrasted nicely against the light tulip wood. Excellent fit.

I bought three dowels and one of them was warped (not straight). I've attached a photo of them pressed flush against each other. The last foot or so of the top dowel curves off.The other two are straight and I will post an updated review after using them.
