Bought this size (1/4 in) because I wasn't sure what size to get lol I'm new to making bias tapes so wasn't sure what size to get so bought 2 (in different sizes). I was thinking, oh for a few dollars I can't go wrong.I tried using this, it works pretty well. It works good if you want to make such a narrow bias tape. I can't figure out what I would use such a narrow bias tape for... so it will be left in my drawer for a bit.The quality of this tape maker is actually pretty well. It's tip is made of steel (as you can see) and the middle has a piece of plastic. Attached to the plastic is a small latch to help you pull it as you iron your fabric. The plastic piece is a smart idea because if you touch the metal with the iron, you're going to burn your fingers. Metal conducts heat after all. The first few times I've played with it, I actually was just holding it from the side to move it as I was ironing. And then I thought, oh I can just use the iron to push it instead! Yeah..bad idea. I almost burned my fingers lol Note: Don't touch the metal with the iron and then touch the tape maker lolAlso, it has a small slit opening on the bottom for you to help feed the fabric through. The space isn't that small, you can use almost anything to help push the fabric out. I used a scissor and it worked. The first inch of the fabric that comes out the feed actually don't look 'perfect' because it wasn't fed 'straight' through. So, what you have to do is pull the fabric back a little bit. Make sure to leave enough fabric so you can actually pull it through. Fix the fabric so it's straight and pull it through again. This is actually what I do for both bias tape makers.I like this but I think it's just a bit too narrow for me. I'm actually scared to fold it in half and iron again because it's so narrow. Maybe eventually I'll be able to be brave enough to fold such a narrow piece :P

I’ve always been frustrated with pre-packaged bias tapes because they’re typically polyester-cotton blends, the quality is lackluster, and they can be difficult to match to the project I’m working on. This product allows me to make my own instead, using whatever fabric I want, and I can get far better results. I bought several of these in different sizes and I couldn’t be happier. They all work perfectly, which is no surprise considering they’re made by Clover. The quality of their products is always fantastic and they just work like they should.

Works like magic. You get an 1 Inch bias tape which is then folded in half for a 1/2 inch binder - all from a 2" strip of fabric. The trick is to feed it through with a V shape cut at the front of the strip before pushing it in. Then, you need a very slim and flat metal thing to grab the fabric through the narrow slit in the tape maker in order to push it out the end. I used a 1/2 inch metal seam guide used as an ironing guide in ironing 1/2" seams, and it worked perfectly. I think all these all bias tape makers need to come with something similar as using a sharp needle does not work that well as it pokes more than it grabs..Once you get your first perfect 1" tape, you'll be hooked. This is my first time using one and can't understand why I didn't use it sooner. I now add binding tape to almost everything, either as binding or as a 1" accent strip (with finished edges.I LOVE THIS CLOVER PRODUCT

The Clover bias tape maker is easy to use and makes a nice folded tape. I had a no name on the same size and didn't make a nice tape. This folds the fabric well.

I never used this item to make bias, but the project I am working on I need this bias maker. It's not easy to make 1/4 inch bias and this little helper is perfect. You do not burn your fingers because there is a little handle on top. Very pleased with this item.
