I knew this was in Japanese when I bought it, but I know other reviewer mentioned it was hard to see that it was in fact Japanese (and I agree, when I bought this it did not mention anywhere in the item description that it was all in Japanese characters). I know Japanese and know tatting, so that wasn't an issue for me, but it will be for others who don't. The patterns are easy, cute, and beginner friendly if you already are familiar with reading tatting diagrams.So, if you're a complete beginner, and have no knowledge of the Japanese language, look somewhere else. That said, there are a lot of Japanese tatting books out there with great patterns.

I read the description to make sure it was written in English, it didn't say so I assumed it was. Nope all in Japanese. Unfortunately I have to return it.

There is English printer on the cover, but inside is entirely Japanese, therefore useless if you don't read Japanese.

タティングレースに興味をもち、初めてみよう！とまずはこのテキストとシャトルを購入しました。金額も安くて、初心者が手に取りやすいですね。初心者の私にも分かりやすく、親切なテキストです。もう少し上手くなったら、ステップアップしたテキストも購入する予定です。

I was a little disappointed that this felt more like a pamphlet than a “book” but hope it helps me start the craft. Read the description to ensure you know what you’re getting.Yet to make anything to describe the ease of the instructions. It’s all in Japanese which is what I expected and that’s fine :)

超初心者には、この一冊では？？でYouTubeを何度か繰り返し見て練習して漸く編める出来るようになりました。まだ先は長いですが頑張って練習します。。

手芸好きの友人にプレゼントするために購入しました。編み図もわかりやすく、最初に見るにはちょうどいいかな。これが全部編めたら次のステップに～みたいなコンセプトも良い本だなって思いました。

タティング歴は20年程。最近サボっていたので基礎から見直そうと購入を決めました。小さな本に必要な事が詰め込んであるのですが、本のサイズが小さいので、中に掲載されている写真も小さい。老眼では無いけど、もう少し写真が大きかったらと残念に思いました。Ａ４サイズであったら星は5つです。
