Finished decking a cast iron block and i'm very happpy with the finish i achieved with the 3" version of this shell mill. Thanks to the seller for providing this product on time and with all the right pieces i needed for my project.

Problem #1 the mill’s through hole was too small to accommodate the screw they didn’t send.Problem #2 the screw was sent. This was remediated by the seller.Problem #3 partially my own fault: they stated in their amazon message it should be easy enough to machine the hole out to accodate the larger screw for the arbor. Well silly me, I didn’t check to see if the mill body was hardened. My 1/2†HSS drill did find out though and was thoroughly chowdered so I decided to give’r a hot supper and plowed it on through.The inserts are a bit funky and a somewhat off style, at least to me. Very little adjustment is available to the inserts. Best I could get was about .006†for variance between the inserts.Pictures attached of the achievable finish though. Definitely acceptable. The lathe vise stop is 6061 Aluminum and the mill vise stop if 1018 steel.
