I bought this because it came with 10 inserts, which seemed like a great deal. It arrived and I realized it had a 25mm shank and my R8 only go up to 3/4, so I ordered a 7/8 R8. The the 7/8 R8 arrived I threw the end mill on the lathe turned it down to 7/8 and parted the length of the shank in half because the 7/8 R8 only allows the shank to enter in about 1.5 inches. Everything worked out great because this goes through steel like a hot knife through butter.

For low volume and prototyping, I have found no reason not to use these tools. Cut quality is great.

Shank is .980 so can’t be used in a 1in holder. Must be used in a collet holder. So far only trimmed a couple pieces of cold roll. Inserts worked good for that.

I cut .005" deep in steel, at 1000 rpm , with a smooth finish, using a slow manual hand feed. I like it!

Used this cutter for milling a hex head on a custom made axle pin of 4140 steel . Milled 12 pins with good finish and no burr edge . Saved having to sacrifice wear and tear on my new high speed steel end mills . Also cleaned up weld access and bring it down square to surface of material , worked great for my needs .

Nice compact mill arbor with spare carbide tips. I have a 3/4" collet to mount it, but haven't tried it yet because garage is cold now (Feb) in Ontario.

I bought the 1/2" single insert cutter and it has transformed my CNC converted Sieg X2 mill. It seems to be a great size that doesn't impart too much vibration into this very popular mini mill. It's now my go to cutter for many operations. If you have an X2 mill, give one of these cutters a try. You won't be disappointed!

c'est une grosseur metrique alors si tu n a pas de colet metrique tu devras le degrossir un peu pour ajustersinon bel outils
