My motion controller boards MPG input does not have noise immunity built into its circuit for the axis selection inputs... When I would go to jog the machine with the encoder the pulses over the cord would trigger changing of axis.. I built a opto isolated interface for the axis selection and jog cycle magnitude inputs and it fixed the problem. My problems are with controller not the MPG so over all 5 stars.

If you like puzzles you'll love this product. The information sent with it is there.. I'm not sure if it's poor info or just bad translation. The card included had required color coding & nothing else except a warning that if you connect the wrong wire you'll 'burn encoder'.. The MLG I bought had their color code card but it had an extra wire not on the card included in the box (redblack). After some time going back & forth to Amazon description I found they have different wire code charts. I suppose for different models..Does anyone have a clue what they mean by "backup" ? Oh & I found out Google lens does a decent job translating text from a photo.. Anyway it seems quality enough for the price. I'll find out how long that lasts over time. I don't feel bad after buying it just a little frustrated that instructions aren't better.

Wired to my pokeys57cnc controller quite easily, and is exactly the same as the one sold by them for a lot more pre-wired. Setting up in my software was very easy. X1 gives 0.001", x10 gives 0.010", and x100 gives 0.100" on all 3 axes. Angular rotation on the A axis is spot on as well.

I'm using this handwheel unit with the new SainSmart 3018-MX3 that you can find on Amazon. The kind people at SainSmart tech support provided a wiring diagram on how to hook the handwheel unit to the 3018-MX3 DB15 port that you can see in the picture. This handwheel is a very solid unit. and all the items work smoothly on it.

It was only after it arrived that I realized grblHAL requires either uart or i2c interfaces to accept commands. Which means to make this type of analog MPG pendant work correctly, you've gotta put another microcontroller in the mix that sends custom gcode/character codes based on the outputs of this pendant.Certainly not plug and play.

This product worked fine and I was able to install it as part of my CNC conversion of my mini-mill. The only issues was the lack of adequate documentation, which made implementing it much more difficult.
